  1. congrats on your lost thus far. in one week i will be one year post op. it has been an interesting journey to say the least, but i would do it again in a heart beat. happy mothers day to you
  2. Ditto what the previous poster said...same here
  3. I get shoulder pain sometimes if I over eat.
  4. I had to sleep sitting up for the first 3 nites...now 11 months out I am a belly sleeper..sometimes I can feel my port and have to adjust myself...as far as exercise there is only one machine at the gym I can't do and it's where u lay on ur stomach and curl the weights to work on ur hamstrings...other than my underwire sometime aggrevating my port site since I've lost weight I have no real problems with my port...hope this helps.
  5. Yeah I bought the whole gas trapped for a minute but 11 months out you can't tell me it's still in there! I'm thinking some nerve is being pinched that refers pain to the left shoulder...I guess it's a small price to pay for taking control of my health.
  6. i was self pay so i didnt have to deal with all that crap...but i would stay on them and get on their nerves so they have no choice but to submit your paper work. hope it gets done soon..ugh!!!
  7. sounds like the green zone to me. took me a while to figure out what i was looking for..lol best wishes to you
  8. i'm in the same boat! i've recently changed up my workout routine. not sure how to add more calories though..i dont have an appetite sometimes as it is and we have been programed to not eat if we're not hungry...ugh i just wanna hit onederland by my anniversary..i met my goal of a size 12, so onederland would be icing on the cake!
  9. i dont have lupus so i can not really speak to how it effects the band, but i am very concerned about dropping 29 pounds in one week. my band was too tight for 2 weeks and i dropped 9 pounds, but gained it back once my band was loosen. like a previous poster said you may need you band out if you have that much tightness and no fluid in it. i dont think the "regular tricks" of looseing may work for you. your doc isnt concerned with your current situation. i would be afraid of becoming dehydrated. i mean in the beginning we live on liquids to let our band heal, but we arent supposed to live like that. i pray that you have gone back to your doc, cuz this just sounds really bad. best wishes and please keep us posted.
  10. i had to bee between 7.5 cc's and 8 for good restriction..that took about 9 months 5 fills and 3 unfils..not in that order lol
  11. i just looked it up....and found many centers near me that do it. sounds like it's just approved for the stomach at this time. something definelty worth considering as i do not want any more surgery..thanks for the post had never heard of this.
  12. thanks!!! the only thing i cant really tell you about is insurance and getting approved. i was self pay so i didnt have to jump thru the insurance hoops...but feel free to ask anything!
  13. You may be someone who needs very little in your band...unfortunatley I'm not...lol..I do know the closer you are to the green zone even the tinyest adjustment can make a huge difference.
  14. i finally got in for 2 emergency unfills..one at UIC with a doc Dr. elli called and told to see me..(on a tues) had to go in that friday for another unfill with Dr. e. oh i gave him a piece of my mind about how i was given the run around and how i felt since i was self pay that they didnt care. i have been in for 2 other adjustments since then with no problems. i'm so sorry you are dealing with that...i dont understand what's going on with your band and why you cant get adjustments. i too will be self pay for my next adjustment as my first year was paid but come may 20th it will be a year and i'm sure i dont need to see him before then. i am grateful that i met my goal in the first year, but of course now i want to loose another size and i'm praying i can do it with my current level of restriction, cuz i think $250 a pop is ridiculous!@
  15. yes...it sounds like you are..please call your doctor's office. you dont want to become dehydrated. it's normal to be tight after a fill, but you should be able to get liquids down no matter what. please keep us posted.
  16. welcome to LBT. this is a great place for support and answers. a few months before i was banded i searched these forums everyday! it can be addictive. not sure if there are specific questions you may have, but feel free to shot me a PM or check out my blog on here or you tube..jennypoo6043 again welcome jennifer
  17. thanks for posting this..wish i knew this when i went through that. i also wanna tell new bandsters dont compare your weight loss or how much is in your band with others. this is an individual journey as well as one we travel together. (if that makes sense). everyone "cheats" at some point..dont beat yourself up! ok that is all...now back to our regularly scheduled program..lol
  18. i am almost one year out and i still get that pain...usually if i over eat, but sometimes for no reason. i have yet to find a sure fire way of gettig rid of it everytime.
  19. your so welcome katlu
  20. i'm 11 months out and staying focused on working out has been my tool! Best wishes on your journey
  21. i try not to try new foods in public, but if you're with ppl who know about your band then if you excuse yourself to get rid of it i'm sure they will understand. real doughy breads i cant do. good luck

dont be discouraged. this is a slow proceess. i know you want it to happen like right now..(and trust me we all do), but it's gonna take some time before you get to good restriction and for your body to adjust. i am a slow loser, but be patient and faithful to your journey...make sure you're working out and doing your part and it will happen. you can do this..we are right here with you
  23. hi and welcome to this site. i'm not sure if you have specific questions, but if you scower over these threads you will find tons of info. i was obsessed with this site a month before i was banded. you will see positive and negative things on here. my personal experience has had some of both, but coming upon my one year anniversary and meeting my goal of a size 12 in 11 months..i would do it again in a heart beat. feel free to PM me if you have specific questions...or check out my blog on here or on you tube..jennypoo6043. best wishes to you!
  24. thanks everyone..i cant believe it's almost been a year since i was banded!!!! where did the time go. i pray everyone is having a successful journey. this is a great place for support..feel free to PM if you have more questions.
