  1. i'm really starting to believe that you are being set up to actually FAIL in order to get approval from the insurance companies. I don't see the point of it, because if i could lose the weight on a "normal" diet, i wouldn't be jump through hoops and traffic to get this surgery done. I strong believe that if you've been obese or morbidly obese for over 5 years you should have to go through this nonsense. You would assume being obese for a half a decade would be proof enough. Personally, i think this is ridiculous. Insurance providers are always finding new ways to screw people over and this another prime example.
  2. For YOUR safety and rapid healing do a week liquid diet because it helps you in so many ways. The first being it prepares you for life after the surgery. Second it makes the surgery easier for the doctor. Third it cuts down surgery time. Fourth it limits the amount internal bruising for a procedure like this. Fifth its gives you more confidence going into the surgery. Sixth it increases your overall safe during the surgery. Like I tell everyone it's better to be safe than sorry. One mistake could hault progression and lead to months of backpedalling. Leave no room from mistakes. Make the margin for error as low as possible on your part and you will thank yourself later...
  3. Yeah I read about the 1 percentile going through this complication. I happy they found the problem and I'm happy you are Feelin do much better...
  4. thanx, i definitely will keep you all in the loop... lol
  5. After months... and Months... and MONTHS of searching for over a year a change. I finally found what i was looking for. I was so ready to give up, but something deep inside told me, that progression is active and never stagnate. I swear to everything i love, i was going to remain this chubby, insecure guy forever, but THIS, THIS right here was the light at the end of the tunnel for me. i know a lot you are still curious and wondering what the hell i;m talking about, so let me tell you. Today i found the FIRST doctor in over a year, that didnt turn me down. Not only does this doctor ACCEPT my insurance (Amerigroup=trash) but he ALSO started doing the surgery i longed for... the SLEEVE!. I spoke to him today and he was great. Taller than i expected but straight to the point to if or buts. His staff were also amazing. Even though I've done my research about the sleeve for over a year and change. They explained EVERYTHING with accurate details, so i was impressed because the other doctors that DIDNT accept my insurance but did the surgery, didnt know much or were fluent enough to break it down properly. I don't want to get my hopes up or nothing but i havent even submitted the paper work to Amerigroup as of yet. Hopefully they approve and dont try to screw me over AGAIN for the millionth time. I feel so relieved right now. Now i can start on my journey to become a SLEEVER!!!! oh by the way the Dr. name is Gorecki!
  6. that will definitely work, because your boy only remembers your calorie intake from the previous day. SO eating more one day and eating less the next will shock ya system. keep it at 1100 for 2 days then up then drop back to 1100 then up it again then drop lower than 1100. this should break the cycle and you will be back to losing in no time
  7. Honestly screw everyone with negative thoughts desperately trying talk you out of this surgery that CAN and WILL make you a better person overall mentality, physically and emotionally. I know exactly what you are going through. Ever since I decided to go for this surgery myself the only person I've been albe to talk to about was my older sister, because she herself had the lap-band procedure done. Everyone else keeps telling me, "no, don't do it, work out, all you have to do is this and that and you will be fine." In my head, I'm screaming my ass off, because they don't know what we go through being obese, morbidly obese, fat, big boned, chubby, whatever they choose to call it. You see they don't have the same issues that we have, they have NEVER experienced the same pain we have gone through, so they don't understand the emotional, physical, and mental suffering we try to fight everyday of our lives. They all say it's easy to do this and that, so I told all them to each gain 100lbs and lie with it for a month and then come talk to me. Maybe then they will get a slight glimpse of our struggle. At the end of the day Mamma thats YOUR body! Do what you want with it if you KNOW it will benefit you, period, because at the end of the day your worst critic will always be that person in the mirror. So yeah, I support your decision! You are NOT alone!
  8. The negativity is all apart of the process, bit remember it's all temporary. In a week or two youre gonna look back and laugh it off
  9. Congrats run forever like Forrest gump lol
  10. I heard rumors about hair loss also but it all depends on your age range and dieting habits.
  11. Loose skin is always better than being big boned... Just work out as much as possible to reduce the excess skin while you're losing weight.
  12. Damn u read this post and got a warm feeling. This pat is extremely inspirational. I will be going got my sleeve in October I can't wait. I'm grateful for your words.
  13. That's not the reason why you should get it sooner than after the VSG, it's because of the staples they use are the big ones (temporary) and not the smaller (permanent). The reason you go through VSG before the DS is because the doctor NEEDS you to lose a significant amount of weight before he/ she attempts the DS for safety reasons. He/she wants to lower te risks at all cost. Depending on how much weight u lose in the first month, the Dr will calculate when the best time is to complete the second part of the procedure. Bigger staples are most likely to leak, but easier to remove if necessary Smaller staples are less likely to leak, but harder to remove if necessary
  14. Never knew they had a chatroom
  15. No, I disagree with rootman... Don't delete him! Keep posting pictures Everytime you lose weight in a nice dress. Let him suffer Everytime he looks at your profile pic. Kill him through kindness. Trust me... I was Mr. Fitness in HS and halfway through college and now I'm Mr. Chubby.lol that's right and that's because everyone does have the determination to continue going to the gym and he will lose his soon in enough. So when he starts to gain weight just ask him one question... How's the gym treating you? Kill him through kindness!
  16. Tell her oh well and she's only ur sister BY law lol... I know two wrongs dot make a right but it will make u feel better
  17. The Pre- liquid diet is not necessary but HIGHLY recommended because it's beneficial for you as the patient and the doctor performing the surgery. The smaller the liver the quicker the surgery due to lack of complications caused by the liver getting in the way of the stomach. Plus it can even speed up or slow down the recovery process. Following the doctors instructions are definitely a plays because he or she knows what problems they tend to have during the performance of the surgery. I'll have my surgery in a month but I've actually practiced the liquid diet requirement several types to train my mind and body.
  18. Is that the same for men, jus a thought lol
  19. Inspirational post... Happy to know that these minor problems are all apart of the recovery process and weight loss journey... Thx for the inside view
  20. You jus need to stay on a "clear liquid diet" u really don't need that much protein till after surgery. The main goal is to shrink your liver enough to eliminate complications and make things easier. So yeah chicken broth, jello, apple sauce, Gatorade will do...
  21. I agree with doggeoomer. It's definitely a cleansing process because you've practical clean your whole entire system out that your digestive system is starting to work normally so it's actually re-adjusting
  22. Sounds like an abdominal sonogram... That's one of the Pre opt test required for me also. They basically measuring the stomach and food intake process..
  23. I agree, eat what you want in moderation but make all healthy choices in the process. Eat for taste not for hunger. If you want sweets look for a healthier substitution
  24. Congrats! I'm scheduled in 2months so I'm excited myself not looking forward to the pain but I think a little pain is worth a lifetime change!
