Sleeved May 5th - I DID IT!!!

Hi everyone!

I had my surgery at about 11:30am on the 5th of May. I did well at the hospital I was told by one of the nurses I was their superstar patient because the other weight loss surgery folks weren't walking or using their breathing thingies (don't know the name of them). I walked every 2 hours. Downside is that I had trouble sleeping so I was up for 30 something hours straight until I got home today. I was trying to see how I was doing without the painkillers (lortab elixer or toridol) because for the most part I felt ok with the exception of the gas. I stopped taking the pain meds at 3am, which wasn't bad but I was regretting it come the ride home at noon lol (yes im dumb!).

I have been able to get about 4 hours sleep in since Ive been home, just got off the phone with my husband so figured I would post but other than being very sore Im fine. I have been home about 7 hours have been drinking Water and about 4oz so far of Isopure punch which I love. I had Jello, tea and apple juice before leaving without any nausea.

I think I will lay back down awhile and then see if I can drink some warm tea or maybe the Protein chicken Soup I bought.

I just wanted to update everyone on my progress!

When I left the hospital I thought... what the hell did I just do to myself! lol but I hear that is completely normal and granted I was in some pain on the ride home. Now that I am home I am feeling much much better!

Hope all is well with everyone!

CONGRATS!!!! YAY!!!!B):D:rolleyes:

Yay, JoJo!

I think I got much better mentally once I got home and had a good night's sleep. I'm still waking up in the middle of the night (although last night I slept all the way until 4:00 am) not in pain, but just because my sleep pattern got all messed up in the hospital. Be sure to walk, sip, and rest when your body tells you to. I think anesthesia takes a lot more out of us than we would think.

Congratulations. I love reading about how people feel after surgery!

Congrats! I'm scheduled in 2months :( so I'm excited myself not looking forward to the pain but I think a little pain is worth a lifetime change!

Hey jo jo

Congratulations! My mum was sleeved two weeks ago and it's my turn on the 13th of may. My mum is doing so well now but also thought what have I done right after and now she is already saying it's the beat thing she has ever brought herself! So good luck with your Jurney and keep us all posted!

Love x x

Jo Jo congrats! Sounds like it was smooth sailing- ine has been a tad bit rockier... But we are sleeved!

SO glad you can be there for each other and you can see your Mum is doing great. That will help!

Congratulations and welcome to the losers side!!! The ride home was the worst for me too!!!! Look forward to future updates.

Congrats to you JoJo!! I had mine done last Wed and came home Friday. I was so lucky that I didn't have any pain, but did have some nausea. They were great about giving me shots for that, so all in all, I felt great. I hope each day finds you stronger and getting more sleep!!

Congrats all! I'm almost 3 weeks out and seem to be doing well! I haven't had the "OMG what have I just done!" moment yet. I think it's because I haven't had time to really think about my innards being cut open and partially cut out! I feel like I have a brand new wardrobe and love the compliments I'm getting from my DH! You'll love how you feel and knowing that you've taken a huge step I'm the right direction!!

YAYYYY congrats!
