  1. Well if u figure out how to make it fun let me know! I've never been a gym person. I'm more the energy efficient type (A.K.A. lazy, lol). I did go when I had a trial membership a few months ago, and it was nice to go at a lower weight and be able to "blend in"!
  2. I have heard that you can get a prescription from your Dr. for the protein and TSA will let you have it then. Don't know how true that is. Also probably one of those YMMV things as well.
  3. It could be just a slip and not erosion. Either way.............the sooner it comes out the better in my opinion! Good luck on your revision!
  4. Hugs! No time is a good time, but I'm so sorry that happened when it did. As much as I hate to say it, it would be best to delay the VSG temporarily. You don't need the added stress right now. Good luck!
  5. Becca I'm with you on the Lap-Band part! I still have mine in and paid cash for the POS. I am hoping to revise to VSG!
  6. Well what's your health worth? You know most people won't hesitate to go out and spend $15,000-$25,000 on a car...........but when it's that amount for WLS they hesitate. Yes, it's a lot of money. However you're going to save a lot more than you would have spent over the years on obesity related illnesses somewhere down the line, not to mention having a better quality of life. Do this for YOU! You're worth it! :-)
  7. I still have the band, but am hoping to revise to VSG. The band does not work for most ppl long term. All the bandsters but one that I know of have done great with their VSG's though. As far as your insurance covering a revision.........well I would ask NOW! Many insurance companies are starting a "one WLS per lifetime" clause in the policies. So even if your insurance company doesn't have this........they could add it at any time, so if you are considering a revision, my advise would be to get it sooner rather than later!!! Good luck!
  8. Fyi..........the RTD's are generally much easier to get down than a lot of the powders. You might try some of those like Premier, Oh Yeah! and Lean Body. Good luck!
  9. " If I had known then what I know now, I would have never had the band. I cannot and will not ever recommend it to anyone." Omg! You have no idea how many times I have said that! CHOOSE YOUR WLS WISELY!
  10. I've been researching revision in Mexico. Aceves seems to be excellent. One thing I know is NOT to use Almanza. Too many leaks and infections have come out of his "hospital"!
  11. Unfortunately that's one of the first things to go. :-(
  12. I love my garden tub also! No dribbles though.
  13. It is what it is. You've got to admit, the loose skin looks better than all the excess weight! If he has any integrity at all, the excess skin won't matter. That being said though..........many men are extremely SHALLOW! I hope that is not the case with your new bf!!!
  14. Oh there are tons of bandsters that have had to have bands removed! You'll notice that you rarely see a bandster that has made it 5 years with their band. The band is really just a short term "fix", that often doesn't fix anything! :-(
  15. I posted a list of resources with tips for getting WLS approved easier with your insurance company. Hope it helps! :-) http://www.formerlyfluffy.com/weight-loss-surgery-insurance-approval-resource/
  16. Wow! 17 years with the band........and all the problems that go along with it! :-( Good luck!
  17. I have the band and after 17 fills I am still hungry all the time. Hopeing to be able to revise to VSG!
  18. I was self-pay also. Mine was around $15,000. Mine has not slipped, but after 17 fills I never received restriction. I would love to be able to to VSG! You will be much happier when the band is out and you have your revision!!! Good luck!
  19. I use DaVinci SF. They have like 50 SF flavors! My new favoriet is the cookie dough: http://www.formerlyfluffy.com/product-review-davinci-gourmet-sugar-free-cookie-dough-syrup/
  20. Funny I thought you said you weren't posting to me anymore? Oh well, maybe that was someone else I was thinking of. Well you certainly did an interesting job of JUDGING me and making up MY story! lol. So many inaccuracies..........where do I begin. Lets start with the 2 band failures. Yes those are considered failures. However NOT getting restriction is a band failure also. Why would any of us had gotten a band, if there were not to be restriction involved? Yes, I am unhappy that I never got it off easy like some others. What was advertised to me, and what I bought was a Lap-Band that was suppose to cause me to get full sooner and stay full longer. You know..that saiety thing. Well it never happend so of course I am unhappy about that . Who wouldn't be? Do I think that most ppl on here stil diet and exercise? Of course I do. However I can guarantee you that none of them got the band to lose weight ONLY by diet and exercise. I expected to do my part, but I didn't expect to pay $15,000 to lose weight ONLY by dieting and being hungry all the time! ~What is the point of getting the lapband? To lose weight. Did you lose weight? yes Looks like you did both, did you not? There are people who REALLY failed~ Of course the object is to lose weight. Of course I lost weight. Did I fail? No. Did the band fail? Yes. Do you honestly believe that someone researching the band does not have a right to know up front that someone can get a band and never reach restriction???? Because that is how it appears when I post about it and get ATTACKED! ~Why don't you end your pity party and actually provide support for those people and not go around moaning about how the Lapband never got you to restriction?~ Here we go again. Very condesending............let's attack the one that posts that her band failed. Not very becoming of you! By me telling my story those with the same problem know who they can turn to if they have that problem. So I am there to support. ~you are deceiving these new people that don't bother to look at the blog you posted or the facebook group you're a part of into thinking you didn't lose weight.~ Never have I stated I have not lost weight. I have deceived no one! My losing weight is irrelevent. I wasted my money on the band and now have it in me doing NOTHING! Therefore I have every right to be angry. I lost my weight ONLY by dieting! Now If I bought a car so I would have reliable transportation to work, and then the car would only drive one block and break down........but I got to work b/c I took a taxi the rest of the way...............WOULD THAT MEAN THAT MY CAR WORKED??? After all.................I bought it. I drove it. And I got to work. Not because of the car..............but inspite of it! See where this is going?! But thanks for the "interesting" interpretation of *my* life!
  21. 5. Members will treat each other with courtesy and respect I don't think YOU are treating me with courtesy and respect! lol
  22. It is possible. It has happened not just to me..........but MANY bandsters as well. If they received some support for posting about things like that on this site perhaps more would share their experience on this forum about it. And I disagree about the "tool". It is a tool for SOME. Many of us get NO tool whatsoever! kind of like a plumber having a wrench that is in 15 pieces. It may technically be a "tool"......but it's never gonna work like that!
  23. Don't know what it's like? Excuse me you moron but I have lived with this POS for 2 years. I know very well what it's like. If you don't like what I post then just STFU and skip over my posts! Then you won't have to be concerned about my "misinformation"!
