  1. ~I know im only about 3 weeks NEW to the band, but actually im not new at all .. I have been studying the Lapband for over 2-3 years.~ Yes you ARE new. Having the band 2-3 years and "studying" the band 2-3 years are two completely different things! Believe me, you will feel very differently about your band in 2-3 years!
  2. ~we do the work not the band.~ If WE do all the work, then why the hell would anyone want the band?!?!?!
  3. It's hard. Very hard. I still think about food a lot. However I very seldom bring unhealthy food into the house. That way I am not as tempted seeing it all the time.
  4. True, we can actually have anything in moderation. Moderation is a new concept for some of us, lol, but I'm learning.
  5. If u really don't want any sugar, maybe a sugar free ice cream bar. I got some of those at the store last time I went.
  6. You may or may not ever get restriction. I had restriction the 1st 2 wks. after surgery from the swelling. Since then.............nothing! :-( 16 fills in less than 18 mos. and still no restriction/green zone! It has been a complete waste of time and money for me!!! Hope t hings work out better for u with the band!
  7. How much weight did u lose with the band???
  8. The band can be very erratic! There is no rhyme or reason for the way it is from minute to minute! A lot of ppl experience tightness in the morning. That does seem to be common. However the amount of restriction can vary from day to day, minute to minute.
  9. Children should NEVER be forced to eat something!
  10. Love the stuff! I throw it in the blender with ice, protein and almond or soy milk and blend. Tastes like a pb milkshake.
  11. For self pay most ppl pay $100-$250.
  12. *I am not going to judge you and say that you haven't ; I don't know you or your experience. But I am sorry; when people say they have lost 10 pounds in a year-that's bs and some of their fault. Get your fills, work with your nutritionist, join support groups (shoot I even go to a WW at work group) and get off your butt and exercise.* But you are judging! You just said it's bs and some of their fault. Then u tell them to get off their butt and exercise. Did u realize u mentioned NOTHING about restriction??? If she has no restriction it's just like them dieting BEFORE they went to all the trouble and expense of having WLS! Yes I think they should eat right. Yes I think they should exercise. However if that is the ONLY way they will lose weight THAT is b.s.!!! None of us paid all that money and subjected ourselves to a surgery to lose weight ONLY by making lifestyle changes. If we thought we could have done it all on our own then we wouldn't have had WLS now would we???
  13. Oh I'm sure most of them are. And yes I have chatted with some amazing ppl from this forum. We all have our differences. Some love the band, those that have bands that don't work tend to hate their bands. It's just that I feel those ppl have the right to post about their frustrations w/o having someone ask them "how do you know it's not working" or whatever the statement was. I thought that was insulting to the poster. It seemed to me to insinuate that she was too stupid to know if her band was working or not! Believe me...........If it's not working...........YOU KNOW IT! :-(
  14. I too would prefer to see more respectful and polite posts. I did not appreciate that she seemed to be blaming the poster for her own band problems! I did not consider that respectful. Perhaps she didn't mean it that way..........but that is how it came off sounding. I am not trying to take my anger out on anyone. I am trying to stand up for those that do not have a band that is working for them, because apparently someone needs to. I also, would like to see a productive forum, so can we not take someone at their word when they state that their band is not working instead of accusing them???
  15. Violent colors??????????? Your kidding, right?!
  16. Good point. Ultimately it is our opinion only that counts as to weather we feel our band was a success or a failure. I'm glad you have done well with yours.
  17. That was a very supportive post. I appreciate it when others who are losing well with their band can understand that many others do not do well at all with it, and give the support that u just gave instead of having the "blame the bandster" mentality!
  18. Lol, stalking is NOT in my job description!
  19. Actually I think a lot of ppl probably read it that way but I was the only one that called her out on it.
  20. Advice and help are not just for ppl doing well with their band. It is for ALL bandsters. Those having problems should not be spoken to as if they are too stupid to know if their band is working or not! Now if that were not your intention...........I will apologize for that. However yes I am bitter about the band and I feel I have every right to be. Had you wasted all your money on a POS that isn't even working like I did you would be bitter too!!!
  21. Well sometimes what goes around does come around. And for you I'm hoping when you start having problems with YOUR Lap Band that those you chat with on this forum are less accusatory then you were to the poster.
  22. As you know...........she didn't come right out and say that. She insinuated it.
  23. Yes I did self pay so that is $15,000 just gone. :-(
  24. Thanks Lacrecia, I've had it 14 months and had 14 fills. No restriction. I have just wasted too much time and money on it at this point! :-(
