  1. Hope u have better luck than me! After over 2 yrs. I am still in bandster HELL!!! I have had 17 fills in less than 26 months and NEVER got restriction! My band has been a complete waste of time and money!!! :-(
  2. It's hard to find a good Protein. GNC will usually exchange it out with a receipt. Most GNC's have Lean Body and Oh Yeah! RTD's those are very good. Another of my favs are Lean Dessert (powder) and Premier (RTD). Those are not usually sold at GNC though.
  3. ~I would much rather band myself a million times and know that if I ever needed to I could remove it, than go with a more permanant method.~ Personally I don't see the sense in anyone having band surgery over and over instead of having a "permanent method"..............but to each their own! :-)
  4. I don't think it was intended as rude. And he probably actually believed the statement when he made it. Congrats on your weight loss!
  5. I have just started buying that soup recently actually. Will try adding the Tysons though. :-)
  6. Stalls happen. No big deal. Just part of the journey. Here's some info on plateau's though: WLS Plateau Q & A
  7. As cheap as I am I would gladly pay more for Aceves! It's just one of those instances where you get what you pay for. I have the Crap-Band and have been researching VSG in Mexico. His patients always seem overwhelmingly satisfied. Good luck!
  8. I am self-pay also and I have researched revisions in Mexico. Dr. Aceves has always come up as one of the best and I am seriously considering him. If I had the funds I would have already done it!
  9. As long as you have chosen a good surgeon there is usually nothing to worry about. The risks of complications from VSG is less than the complications from being obese. Good luck!
  10. Early out I used the Unjury unflavored and added it to broth, sf pudding and nsa applesauce.
  11. Glad the surgery went well. Recovery usually goes very quickly. Enjoy your new life! :-)
  12. Hailey there is a 16 year old that just had WLS a few months ago. She could probably give you some good feedback on WLS in teens: Teen WLS'er Ashley
  13. I don't think it's intended to be rude. I think he was just trying to be accommodating. Just tell him everything is fine and change the subject.
  14. I use Bariatric Advantage and Celebrate. In addition to the multi twice a day I also take B-12, B Complex, Calcium Citrate and Iron.
  15. I have thought about checking into them. They seem to be one of the leaders in med financing.
  16. I got my Lap-Band done in the states, but am hoping to go to Mexico to revise to VSG.
  17. That is very common for someone to lose restriction and not be able to get back to that point unfortunately. :-( I hope things went well with your cancer surgery and that it is completely gone!!!
  18. I don't understand. You band only lasted 3 years. Why would you want to have a repair rather than revision considering you could be in the same position in another 3 years???
  19. Shop around. Prices can vary greatly! Lean Dessert can be very reasonable on Amazon. Premier Protein has a great price at Sam's Club and Costco.
  20. If you don't get full any differently than you did before the band then there will be nothing new to "recognize". Remember, some ppl NEVER get restriction. In that case it's just like losing weight BEFORE you got the band. But why would you be ashamed to go to the Dr.? They see Lap-Banders that regain all the time. Believe me, you are NOT the first!
  21. Unfortuatly band complications are the norm. Usually slips, port problems, esophageal problems, but erosion happens as well. Will you be revising to a better WLS?
  22. A new band? After erosion??? You're kidding, right?!
  23. ~Other WLS surgeries have a lower fail rate because the patient really doesnt have to do anything. Weight loss with some of the others is solely based on the malabsorbative process.~ Really? Because last time I checked................VSG was NOT malabsorbtive! Funny how they very seldom have a WLS failure with no malabsorbtion! Merry Christmas!
  24. Well just and FYI, YOU are a complete MORON! Lol. ~Stop making excuses as to why it's not working...bands rarely fail...hosts fail the band!~ The "hosts" fail? Oh really? And tell me why it is that most other WLS's are successful, but somehow bandsters are the only ones that fail consistently?! YOUR band will fail you in a few years. I would love to hear about how YOU (the host) failed then! And of course 14 will is too many. And I did change Drs. Didn't matter. The Dr. worked. The band did NOT!
