  1. CJ,,so glad your day worked out! iggy..that house has major WOW factor!
  2. I have the same issue..mostly with water. I have to take tiny sips and it just gives me this weird feeling. I tend to be able to tolerate warm liquids better.
  3. Welcome to vst, bigchris! You will hear this more than once after surgery,,most important is water and protein. Sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk There are posts that give alot of great imformation on protein drinks, what to pack for the hospital trip, what not to eat,,etc. You can do a search on about anything you need to know here. Good luck,,looking forward to seeing you around the forums!
  4. I didn't get a leak from something I ate but I had one and I can tell you, you don't want one. Correct your mistake sweetie and stay on the path you chose...take charge,,you can do it!! Good luck!
  5. That's great! So happy for you!!! Congrats
  6. I've been praying for you,,so glad all is ok!!!
  7. You've made it this far and the sleeve is saving too many lives for them to close shop..try to relax your mind about that. As for the psych eval,,be honest but not too revealing. Try to keep everything on the positive. You're going to do so great!
  8. I think we're weighing on Mondays since labor day falls on that day. Congrats on the 3# loss!! Awesome job!
  9. I haven't heard anything! They said it would be a few days,,now the weekend is approaching so maybe Monday? They were going to take my results and compare them with the upper gi I had back in January. My myasthenia gravis has been acting up,,though I hate the symptoms..I'm hoping that's all it is.
  10. www.mybariatricpantry.com for roadside lemonade,,it tastes good but I mixed mine with a little more fresh lemon and added strawberries and put it in a blender..yum
  11. I guess I shoulda mentioned I'm over 6 months out.
  12. I did a little test on my sleeve. I took a 6 ounce container of yogurt and ate till I was full. I could hold 5 ounces so I measure my food and make sure it weighs less than 5 ounces. I know this doesn't apply to all food because some food is dense and it's more about volume than weight but it gives me a good idea..and when I follow it, I never overstuff myself. Hope this helps.
  13. You might try truvia,,I think it tastes great in drinks..but everyone is different. I've had the nectar lemonade,,its not bad at all.
  14. I was on clear liquids that first week, full liquids the 2nd week.
  15. You have accomplished so much in a year, don't let this get you down. It has only been a year,,keep working out. It takes longer for everything to get where it needs to be. I would only consider plastics as a last resort..and much more time than a year to decide. I hope your tomorrow is better
  16. I think if you're going to look old,,it doesn't matter the way you lose weight. I'm 47,,have lost near 70 pounds and I'm told I look 10+ years younger..I have good genes and that has alot to do with it.
  17. When or if I eat bread of any kind..it fills me up too quick. I might as well forget about eating anything else for a while..and I get a feeling like it's stuck. That's how I know I can't tolerate it well. If I want it, I take teeny bites and chew it till it's mush. It doesn't sound like you are over eating. I would cut out the sherbet unless it's sugarfree. I would try giving myself a little more variety.
  18. Lissa cracked me up! And I'm 5'5" and have a 36fr bougie.
  19. Aww,,I'm so sorry,,but I bet it'll all be ok. Just hang in there I'll be praying for you!
  20. What is an expanding vein and how is it treated or is it treatable?
  21. I had my 6 month follow up yesterday and had told my doc that I was having a tight feeling in my throat. I have a muscle disease and it just doesn't feel related so they thought maybe it was a stricture. They did an upper gi and noticed a little restriction as I swallowed that white crap. They said it's an easy fix if that is the problem and somewhat common..I'm waiting on the results of my test. I hope all is well, try not to worry till you know for sure.
  22. AnewMe..can I ask what the time span it took for you to put 19 pounds back on? I think it's good to educate ourselves, especially us newer sleevers, to know that it is possible to gain weight even with sleeve. It's awesome you are getting back on track!
  23. I agree with TinaMari. I will say, the hair issue was a problem for me too but because I too have co-morbs..it's more important for me to lose the weight. It sounds like you are still unsure so I would take some serious focus time and think it over..talk to your doctor as well. Even though you are healthy aside of the obesity, if you have a family history of heart disease, diabetes, etc..I'd talk to he/she and find out if they think you are high risk. Maybe that will help you decide which way to go.
  24. I heard about that episode and I missed it so I looked up chia seeds online. I know when I start needing that full feeling again,,I'm buying some! Here's a link to some interesting information about them. http://www.living-foods.com/articles/chia.html
  25. I pray all is well for your child and for your surgery!
