22 More Days Until Im Sleeved :-)
I forgot to mention,,Chike Strawberry Burst is the best protein shake I've had by far. It tastes like strawberry milk..even when you mix it with water and it's 28g of protein per serving. They have other flavors too but I've only tried the strawberry. Check out http://www.chikenutrition.com/index.html Everyone's tastebuds are different but this was best to me.

Freinds...how Many Of Us Have Them?
Kinda like catracks,,but I have a niece and she is the sweetest girl. She lost alot of weight and she told me to be prepared when I lose my weight because she lost a large majority of her friends. She said the guys were intimidated by her, the skinny girls snubbed their nose at her like she was a skinny girl wanna be and the big girls are jealous because they can't lose weight. She said people just treat you differently. I always thought I was treated different because I'm fat,,I didn't know it would be just as hard to be thin. I did have one friend that said she was going to be jealous because I'd be smaller than her. Whether she was serious or not, I don't know..and I don't really care. I did this for me and even though I am a sensitive person, I just can't let them get to me. I lost my closest friend because we our lives changed and we grew apart. It is hard but you learn to cope when your lives become so different. If your friend is changing the way she treats you just because you lost weight, even if she did support you at this point, you already know how she really feels so your friendship will just be awkward.

Sabotaging Myself
You are NOT alone. I'm over 6 months out and still struggle with food choices. I've posted more than my share about my struggles. I have to give myself some credit that I am doing way better than I did pre surgery but I do have to fight it everyday. I have an addiction,,with life struggles, traumas and difficult circumstances. But I think food can grab anyone at anytime so for whatever reason we are food addicts,,it is what it is. I'm with rebecca,,we can do this! I'm here if you ever need anyone to just listen, feel free to pm me.

Off Of Disability After Wls?
I am on permanent disability due to several ailments but mostly because of myasthenia gravis. Unfortunately, losing weight will not make it go away but it will help some of the symptoms such as muscle function in my limbs. Trying to go back to any kind of work,,even if just seasonal, prn or part time has always been my goal.

Fighting The Food Blues
msvickee,,I did enjoy watching everyone eat..after reading your post I paid close attention to what I felt. It was kinda like..wow..I can't believe they could finish all that off..LOL

Fighting The Food Blues
I can't describe the feeling I get. I wouldn't say it is envy that others get to eat because it is such a joy for me to cook for them. Just a little spark of that joy is missing because I think food was a big part of the social aspect for me. I'm learning how to be social without food being the center of it and it's very hard. I know it's a mental thing,,I'm just slow getting the hang of it.

Freinds...how Many Of Us Have Them?
I don't even know how to respond to you,,that is so shocking! I'm so sorry you had to endure that. It's surprising how immature some grown ups are.

Fighting The Food Blues
I have a group of family coming over for a cookout and I was so excited but then when I think about what I get to eat, I get this down and out feeling. Like I'm going to be missing out on what everyone else will be enjoying. I think this has been one of the hardest things for me to overcome. I'm the youngest of 8 kids and my mom was a cook,,in more ways than one..she cooked for large numbers of people, she was personal waitress to Col. Sanders at Claudias steakhouse. She cooked for the homeless and the needy. My whole life has evolved around food and I miss it so much. How can I get over this? I'm in therapy and I try so hard to look at the big picture that food is for survival,,not my friend. That my life will have such quality when I reach my goal..it is already changing. I feel good physically but mentally I suffer.

My Dad Is So Mad!
Your dad is just worried about you, his reaction is pretty typical. Try to include him in the process, invite him to a seminar so he can be educated on what you are doing. Tell him how important it is to you that he attends. He will learn everything he needs to know about the procedure then he can decide how he feels about it. Tell him to at least give it a chance.

My Boyfriend Left Me
I bet if you ask the son if it hurts that the man he knows as daddy left him he would say yes..I don't respect that. He could've done it differently. You don't just walk out on a person and a child. Being there for 6 years makes it even more difficult to bear. My youngest son went through absense of his father for a long time, it really messed him up. There is no excuse for just walking out. You hit the nail on the head when you said "he chose to support a child"...he should've done the responsible thing and at least said goodbye..my gosh.

Thyroid Issues
I have hashimotos thyroiditis. It's made losing weight difficult before surgery and since surgery my tsh levels have flucuated so much that I've changed synthroid doses twice..so far and I'm a slow loser..not sure if it's thyroid related now or not. Is anyone else having problems or issues associated with thyroid disease?

My Boyfriend Left Me
No, he's not here to defend himself because this is HER board..SHE reached out to us..we give the support here based on the needs of the poster. All I read is how he dumped on her so I'm giving support to her to help her through this tough time..we can only assume that she is telling her side the way it actually is..he skipped out on her, skipped out on her son..who he was supposedly a dad to (I take this kinda personal for my own reasons)..she's made numerous attempts to reach out to him to talk it over and he keeps bailing on her..now which part is he supposed to be respected for? I'm missing something.

Full Feeling
It sounds like you're doing everything right,,probably why you don't ever feel full because you are measuring, etc..I do much better when I measure..5 oz or less for me.

My Boyfriend Left Me
I have a 12 year old as well..it's a tough age, you did the right thing letting your son stay with family while you get yourself together. Also, it sounds like you have a good plan to stay with your family. You have the answer but might be having a hard time letting go because that will mean it's over. I agree with those who said he obviously isn't the love of your life or else he'd still be around and supporting you at a time that you need it the most..and to turn away from your child, that would just make me angry. Put your son first and focus on yourself and healing. You really should get out of that bed and do some walking,,you won't do anyone any good if your health suffers. Show this guy that you are stronger than him and that you can carry on and survive without him. Depend on yourself, have confidence that you can take care of you and your son. Lying in bed and yearning for him to come back is probably what he thinks your doing..I'd do the exact opposite to piss him off.
