Yes, we should be grateful for the help the band offers us. It truely is a helpful tool. I respect the way you think through the issues you may or may not face. We have to keep thinking and analyzing where we are at in order to get where we want. ...Blessings...Dolly

I sure will keep you and your daughter in prayer. I went through a hurtful divorice as well many years ago. The one thing I can say is that "Our disappoints are often God's appointments.". You may not think so now, but keep trusting and turn the anger, hurt and pain over to God and in time you will see His Grace and Wisdom for all things....Blessings ...Dolly

We all have been there. The horror of the pictures. Still can not stand to look at mine. Your attitude is great for the battle that awaits you. And it is a war. Keep those spirits high and your resolve strong. Best wishes and Blessings......Dolly

You type in your comment first then click add comment. and up it will pop on the person blog. I hope this helps , we need encouraging members on here... Blessings... Dolly

Bless your heart Rachell. You mirror so many of us. I can tell you have a resolve to do something about your weight. And that's what is needed for a good start. Like the member "LoseiT" said in her comment to you, in a year you wil be a changed person. Your nephew will be calling you HEY! HEY! instead of Nay Nay.. lol.... Blessings....Dolly

No one could have been a bigger failure than i had been. But you know what? Failure can be a teacher as you start anew. I have been on this site for a month now and i also have been recommitted for a month. Longer than anyother time for a new way of living a healthy life style of food choices. This site is the best thing that has happened to me in my battle of the bulges. You will learn that you have a relationship to food. Look into the forums as well as the blogs and you will learn about your compulsion to eat and many other things that will offer you education , encouragement and support. . Best wishes on your journey. Dolly

Yes we can always count on God's grace, (His unmerited favor) to carry us through life's difficulties. Wheather we are responsible or it''s from left field the Lord is our refuge in time of storms. So happy you have done well. Keep posting and give us more insights into your success. Blessings ...Dolly

You have done so well without hardly any support. You have come to the right place for that. I have learned so much from the members on this site. It is just helpful reading other's blogs and as you comment on a few you somehow instill a greater commitment inside your own heart. At least that is how it works for me. Share some of the things that have helped you be so successful. We are all ears. You are already an encouragement to me. Blessings

Fawn, that is a good approach to the new year. We fight this battle mentally more than anything else. So any strategy that mentally sets our resolve and commitment is awesome and clever. You go Girl... I love quotes too and the one from Dadkins8 is so encouraging. I did allow myself to stay in the water too long but my head wasn't all the way under so I jumped out and have a new appreciation and will to allow my band to work for me. It's all really a mater of choice. Stay in the water or get out and get moving. Blessings to us all this New Year.

I loved your post. You put it so we all relate some where in it. And for me it was darn near all of it. It is from these types of posts that help set us straight and help keep us on course. Thank you. Blessings

Wow oh wow. You sound like me. One thing I have learned big time is to let FAILURE be your TEACHER, not your UNDERTAKER.. I have learned so much about my relationship to food. I didn't even understand I had a relationship to food before I learned it from this site. A lot of relationships are unhealthy and rob you of real happiness. Those relationships usually are driven by self serving, self centered, and a controlling partner. Well my relationship to food was one of compulsion. It was an unhealthy relationship that controlled me and robbed me of my happiness. I centered on food and was driven by it. That relationship lasted for 4 years after the band. Talk about Failure !
Thanks to you, whom first reached out to me and encouraged me when I first found this site and asked for help I have a new resolve and committment to this Band. I am respecting it and all it can and will do for me. I now have a "relationship " with my band. I have acknowledged my band as my healthy partner. That is what I would encourage you to do with me. Find that partnership once again and resolve to commit yourself to healthy eating. I am hanging in there with you. Let's do it inspite of Holidays. Blessings

You are doing all the right things and others can learn from you. You really do have to listen and feel what the band is telling you. I also have a hard time eating meat. But I look at that as a good thing, because it takes a long time and that is also a good thing. Small bites are essential and chewing and chewing and chewing. lol I find Meat ,(mostly turkey and chicken) really stick to my ribs. And therefore I am not prone to getting hungry as quickly. Also I have found eating sliced , turkey or chicken that you buy in the packaged lunch meat section is easier to digest than cooking up a chicken. I think it is because it is moister. Just make sure it is no fat. Mine is 10 calories a slice. Wrap a slice or two around a sliver of pickle and sliver of cheese and you have a great low calorie, long lasting snack. Blessings

Super good job ! This is super encouraging to us members who are just begining to choose to let the lap band work for and with them. . I don't know why you can't see the difference in the mirror. A 100 lbs. is a lot of "difference". Bless your heart, you had to have a whole lot of discipline and commitment for this kind of result. I am confident you will find the resolve you need. You obviously have the head knowledge, now you need the hearts desire to lose that last 50 lbs. You can do IT. Blessings.

Thats wonderful news. I hope I can snap out of it and start doing what I need to do. I too have been gaining and gaining and not even deiting. I have to snap out of it and do what I need to do to start doing well. Lots of blessings to you and hope you contining doing well in your journey.Other than that e mail from my son ,this site has been the biggest help to my resolve. It has so much informatin in the forums which made me really look at myself and my relationship to food. Which was one of compulsion. Never really understood I had a relationship to food before I got on this site. It got me to discoverying and understanding my unhealthy relationship to food. Like most unhealthy relationships I was mostly consumed by it with my time, energy and exspenses. Crazy I know. Anywho, with the support and encouragement of the members on this site I have left this relationship of destruction in my life and CHOSEN a new kind of relationship to food. One where it no longer controls me but I control it. Maybe this wll help you as it did me.. That will be my prayer for you as you seek to regain your resolve to fight this fight of flab. lol Blessling.

That sounds so painful. I am so sorry this happened. I never had anything like that with my band and never heard of a side effect such as this. I am glad you have found relief with this new doctors treatment. Blessings

The program i enrolled in had some psychological food for thought. It is good that you are thinking ahead and looking for every advantage you can. You will need to ask your surgeon or program director if they have programs post op. I also found help in the forum section on this site. May you be blessed in your journey with much success.... Dolly
