Today was the day!

I did it! Today was my band day! Was at the surgery center 5 hours the surgery itself was a little over an hour my surgeon repaired an umbilical hernia I didn't know I had! My surgeon used the spider so I have one large incision around my navel area and a smaller one just a little higher for my port. I'm sore, and have only had to take a little pain med. I don't really feel the gas pains in my shoulder, but my tummy is hurting I can feel it on the inside. I have sipped on water, weak tea and have had some jello. I am going to have some chicken broth in a little while. I have not felt nauseated at all! I'm hoping that will continue for the next few days as I move toward mushy foods! I can't wait to have mashed potatoes or even a scrambled egg!

I was not the least bit nervous this morning I have been so excited by the thought of being a more slender and lighter me that I didn't let my nerves get to me!

The staff was very professional, fun and caring! My surgeon was Dr. Adam Smith from Fort Worth, Texas and I believe he is the very best!

The only advice I can give is to be comfortable and confident in your decision to have this life changing Lap Band Surgery! Don't let others stand in you way do it for you and your health!

I'm so excited about a new year and a whole new me!
