Pinapple promblems
I read somewhere on here and I can not find it in search about a person who ate pineapple post op and it did not digest and had to be removed? I think it had something in it that could not be broke down post op, are there other foods to be weary of?

Quinoa
I never see it mentioned here, is it something we can have post op? I enjoyed it so with balsamic vinegar, onion and garlic pre op,

Finally getting rolling
I understand your anxiety. I was thinking back to when I had all my appointments rolling, would I pass this, would that doctor find something else. When I got the final clearance from the lung doctor I sighed a breath of relief and then I DID A HAPPY DANCE! Waiting for the doctors office to give a a date felt like eternity!

Day 13 and had a small slip am I ruined now!
NO your stomach is not ruined. HOWEVER if you make yourself throw up a lot you could do some damage. Don't sweat it too much,,, just keep the scale number in mind when those temptations come to you and imagine the next lower number.

Naysayers! Blah....
I looked at this way, I was the only person I need consent from! I had the naysayers too, in fact one girl who was the worst will not talk to me since I went back to work. I think she is jealous. I don't people like that in my circle, so good riddance!

At first I was like ewww when I was mixing it, but I LOVE it now that it cooked. I added some chopped onion and parmesian right in the mix as well as on top and I will make it with some mushrooms next time and maybe a turkey meatball broken up. I should've never left the VSG forum....DS people scare me :(
PS The simple fact is anyone with any type of WLS can regain their weight. It is a tool and and a tool only. You will have to be responsible for what you put in your mouth for the rest of your life. One thing I know for sure is that I could never ever again eat in volume as is is physically impossible. It is estimated some 50 percent of bypass patients regain all their weight.

birth control after
You will need to go off before to help prevent blood clots. My Doc had me stop 2 months pre op. The liquid phase of meds is only in the beginning while you are healing. A little birth control pill will go down no prob 1 month post op.

Clear liquid coming from my belly button
i would not fret over clear liquid, it is no emergency but is worth a phone call to find out why that incision is still leaking.

Oldest
I met a lady at support group and she was 74! She came up to the group leader and asked he remembered her and he clearly did not, she said remember me, I was 400 pounds and in a wheel chair! Then he remembered. Let me tell you the lady looked awesome, walked all the way into the hospital and out, ( no small feat!). I was surprised myself, but she had done it a year earlier. I hope I have her gusto at that age!

Telling Co-Workers
I think you did it the best way! I was all up in arms about weather to tell my co workers and then towards the end I just figured they are going to talk if tell and if I don't. So I figured putting it out there, the true version would nip a lot of the nasty ones in bud with their version. I am getting a lot of support from my bosses and funny thing is the ones who seem put off now are the ones who fight the battle of bulge themselves. One person who used to have tons to say to me has not said a word since I am have been back. I figure she is jealous, but I don't care! I am HAPPY!

8-1/2 mths postop from Sleeve
I know what you mean about going to the old size. Heck I don't even know how the sizes work out of the womans sections! What the heck is all this Missy's, Petites ect????? What happened to a size 12 being a size 12? The other thing I find funny getting past is when you go to put on your new size clothes and you feel like they are going to be too small because you are used to how far wide they opened before. It is like a second of panic and then a celebration because they do indeed go on!

New To The Site! February Date Scheduled! Question!
Absolutely NO REGRETS! I am 5 weeks out from the sleeve and I am loving the amazing changes taking place! If ambien is crushable you will be fine, also if memory serves me ambien is pretty darn small so even if it is not uncrushable it should be fine, but talk to you pharmacist and doctor. Premier Protein shakes have the BEST chocolate taste, available at costco and amazon. You like myself will probably be LOVING sugar free choc pudding after the surgery! To this day my husband is trying to sabotage me. Do you want candy at the movies, do you want a shake from Mcdonalds ect. I have gotten to the point I become the b*tch from hell when he pulls it. And yes, I have heard the line "When you get skinny" I have told him it is not about getting skinny for me, it is about healthy and not taking so many meds.
