    I Reached My Goal!!!!!

It has been 7 months, and 2 days since my WLS. I finally hit my GOAL when weighing in this morning. I have never been this small in my adult life. It is such a great feeling, knowing that everything I worked for up to this point has been worth it. My ONLY regret is that I didn't do this 10 years ago. I have lost 81 lbs., went from a size 20 jeans, now in a size 6, (I posted a few days ago that I was a size 8, but my new jeans were actually too big, and I had to get a size 6). I am sooooooo happy!!! 😄😄😄😄😄

    No Weight Loss

It is a biological defense against starvation...developed by humans over tens of thousands of years of adapting to poor hunting seasons and bad harvests. It's why you're cold all the time, why you get constipated, why you run out of go, why you can feel cloudy and not quite yourself....your body just shuts down everthing possible to keep you from losing anymore weight because it thinks you're dying of starvation. Lots of critters have the adaptation. Torpor. Brumation. Hibernation. Uban legend has it that sometimes kicking up your calories a little bit and doing more physical activity, getting more sunshine...can help snap your body out of it. In another ten thousand years, maybe our bodies will develop a resistance to the excess calories that are shortening our lifespans.......but for now, they're still more into defending against starvation. If only we could explain it to them. LOL.

    UTTERLY LOST SLEEVE PATIENT

Thank you for all of this information. I can't wait to go home tonight and watch this. My head hunger is bad and I miss eating a snack every now and then. I was perfect my first year and a half until they said, no we mean volume, not weight. Now I have a horrible fear of stretching my stomach that I am making myself sick and I miss eating and don't know how to stop this.

    UTTERLY LOST SLEEVE PATIENT

I think at this point, you need to develop a more common sense approach to this. It sounds like you know what you should not be eating and need to focus on what you can eat and track that as accurately as possible. I am attaching my Boot Camp document again...which in the final stage says to eat three 4 oz high protein meals, plus two servings of vegetables, two servings of fruit and three servings of complex carbs. Get a tracker like My Fitness Pal and track your intake. I do NOT think you need to "smoosh" things into a measuring cup, you should be able to "eyeball" a cup or quarter cup of food, or weigh it. Good luck and I hope you can find something that works for you! Post Op Diet Boot Camp.pdf

At 5'5" and 240...with good luck, your skin will snap back. At age 18 your chances are terrific (but not guaranteed.) I think about the tiny little 20 year olds I know with huge pregnancies whose skin reduces and looks terrific in months. I had my surgery done at 46, and was stunned at how well things reduced back into place. I have a few trouble areas, but I don't mind how I look naked at all. I was open to skin surgery, but don't feel I need it. At 18, I think you're gonna look amazing:) Best wishes.

    Gastric Bypass Surgery

Hi Elaine, welcome. The doctor is just gonna talk with you about your weight, your dieting history, what the surgery is like, what to expect from the surgery & help you decide which surgery is right for you. If you have acid reflux at all you should have a RNY. From what I’ve seen in the boards, your age isn’t a concern at all. Toodles, Rue
