    Holy Freaking PAIN!!!

I had my surgery Tuesday and was home by 3PM. The first couple of days was rough indeed. I think the walking helped a ton with getting the gas out so now the pain is from the surgery and my abdomen is very sore but today is better than yesterday and I can take bigger sips so I'm getting in my liquids. I've also been taking my pain meds, hydrocodone, and that helps once get into a comfortable position. The first night I was still up every hour to walk as well as during the day. The last 2 nights I was up between 2 and 2 1/2 hours. I think tonight I'll see if I can just sleep. Good luck!

Zoloft is killing your sex drive, I am not suggesting no medication but maybe something else - ask your doctor. As far as vitamins - some doctors allowed 2 Flinstone's chewables and they are relatively cheap at Walmart.

    Calcium replacement

Was doing some researching into this...and this was like the first thing that came up https://www.huffingtonpost.com/lani-simpson-dc-ccd/calcium-heart-attacks_b_1553873.html Digging a little deeper, I think the recommendation is for Sleeve patients only, given the issues Sleeved folks have with acid production, it would make sense that using an acid reducing calcium carbonate would be a decent idea, however in bypass patients, with the stomach coming in later to our tracts, it might not be such a smart idea.

Tips for getting your fluid in?

Ask your doc but most allow you to count protein shakes and drinks. Usually they don’t allow you to count caffeinated beverages like coffee. Try all kinds of drinks...iced herbal tea, water with sugar free flavor drops like mio, crystal light, sugar free electrolyte drinks or water enhancers like NUUN. Try all temperatures! Iced, cold, room temp, warm and hot. Add some lemon to your water. Experiment! I couldn’t drink tap water for a long time it felt too heavy but bottled water was fine. Go figure! Just keep trying different things till you find what works

I stopped taking them due to high costs (I'm low income). He doesn't think I need to take any, which has been an big issue since we started dating. I don't think he really understands what it's like to be with a WLS patient and if we break up, then I'll know that he truly wasn't the right man for me. We've discussed my issues many times and he admitted my issues are very hard and on him, that he doesn't know what to do anymore. I need to find vitamins that won't hurt my pockets. I've already discussed my problems with the psychiatrist and there is nothing they can do for me due to my VSG surgery. I was told to seek alternative remedies to help me. Now I'm beginning to regret having surgery and I wasn't feeling like this before.

I'm had mine on 7/31 and got home about 3 pm. I'm struggling to get my fluids in but I went for IV therapy today and was also given Toradol in my IV. I notice when I got home that I was able to drink bigger sips than yesterday. I was told to aim for a minimum of 60 g of protein for the first 2 weeks and that's 2 shakes at 22 fluid oz plus 64 oz of water. I might be able to take the liquid from the shake out of my water to get my 64 but I don't think I'll be getting 64 oz of just water today. I can't start on soft foods until the 3rd week. uggg Hang in there! We can do it!

I recommend switching to unsweetened almond milk and plain yogurt, and no Cheerios during the weight loss period. And have you added up your daily protein total with an app like MyFitnessPal yet? It seems like it may be less than 60g per day.

    Liquid diet

Check out Wal-Mart and Target and Meijer(if you have one) there isn't much those or Giant Eagle don't have. Where are you located at?
