    Thoughts needed....

Hello Wv chef Im so sorry to hear about all your troubles & I agree with Crèekimp13! Alcohol is NEVER the way to cover over any problems! It just leads you to more as you have already experienced! I have a Niece who had a gastric bypass right after she graduated high school. She had been over weight most of her young life so wrhen she was old enough my Sister helped her to get the surgery. By the way shes now 25 or 26. Back then my sister, her Mom, didnt know about the gastric sleeve! Anyway my Niece loss all her weight & felt pretty & sexy for the first time in her life! She started to go partie, bars & started drinking, getting drunk which lead her to getting raped & anòther time she became pregnant & well...the fetus is no longer here![emoji17] To make a long story short.. she's still drinking despite all the help & encouragement from family & the TV show called Intervention. She is now living many miles away from her family, has a 4 yr old daughter, living with the babies father who is a drug addict & who beats her! So NO... alcohol is not good! And yes it will make you gain weight! WV let me ask you this...have you ever though about turning your life towards God? That is the Best direction you can go at this point in your life! Why not seek a way to have a personal Bible Study to show you how you can change you life & bring you much, much Joy! I promise you will never regret it or ever be alone no matter where you live! Hi there congrats. And I'm 183 from 244. It's understandable that your tummy starts to get full fast so constant sips help as you get further out you can take in more some people don't have trouble drinking for me. I'm 5 months out and a switch flicked now I can drink more . Even sucking on ice will help. set timers to remind you to drink. If you don't feel ready that's okay take your time. No rush. Little tries when you feel ready. For me puree was after 2 weeks. Realistically I wouldn't worry about loss skin right now. Loss the weight then worry you have alot to focus on which is getting to goal. To be honest I'm quite young and though I'm not at goal I have alot of lose skin. But I'd prefer lose skin to being fat. So wearing spanx. I just keep it moving lol. Good Luck Sent from my Vivo 5R using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi everyone.... I've been trying since I signed up to change my stats that show here in my profile... the highest weight, current weight, etc... and I just can't tell where to change that info. On 'edit my profile' I only can edit certain things, but not those. Can someone help? The stats are wrong, including my HW (which shows an incorrect weight)... just frustrated. Any help with this would be awesome. Thanks so much in advance.

I don't know you. But right after wls is the worst time to quit. The emotional rollercoaster the depression people encounter who didn't even have depression before. You have a long way to go and I would continue to take the pills if it were me. I stopped taking mine before. I swear I could have jumped off a bridge on a couple of occasions I was getting so angry and irritable. Sent from my Vivo 5R using BariatricPal mobile app

One week and new to the site

Hi everyone, I had my gastric sleeve surgery on Monday dec 4. im 24, and I’m 5’5 my starting weight was 219.2, I am 5 days in and currently 207.6. Has anyone else got gastric sleeve surgery at around this weight? im kind of struggling. I’m confused by the diet and I think I’m not having enough fluids. My diet says to drink 3-5 oz every hour. And to includ Protein Shakes 2x a day. I haven’t been drinking enough fluids because my stomach starts to feel very fulll if I drink too fast. When did u start eating puréed food? ya diet plan says after 7 days to introduce puréed foods but I feel like my stomach will not be able to tolerate It. I’m also very worried about having loose skin. I’m hoping that my age will be on my side and my skin will be resilient but anyone that has had gastric sleeve at around my weight, what is your experience with loose skin? if anyone could comment on what a normal daily diet for them looks like I’d appreciate It example: 9-am 3 oz water 10 am 4 oz Protein shake 11 am 3 oz Water 12 pm 4 oz broth 1pm scrambled eggs

    One week Post-op!

You will feel like like you are eating constantly for the first few weeks, it gets easier. My ability to drink more at a time increased quickly. But yeah, it’s a chore at first. I ate a lot of Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, refried beans or pea soup and usually 1 protein shake a day. I couldn’t do puréed meat so I depended a lot on dairy during that time. I bought a little insulated lunch bag w an ice pack so I could take food with me if I was going to be out of the house for more than an hr or 2. I also recommend Cooking eggs in the microwave as opposed to on the stove, they come out much softer and more moist than the stove top. Good luck!

    Four Month Surgi-versary

Yup, I've made it to the four-month point. About 105 lbs down since the start, about 65 since surgery on August 4. I can confirm that it does get better each week! I feel like I hit a turning point in terms of getting closer to feeling "normal." I'm still cautiously introducing new foods and fine tuning my sense of fullness so I stop before I get uncomfortable (or sick.) I learned a good lesson this past week about why you must eat all your proteins first: I was having a meeting in a cafe and was hungry for lunch so I ordered a kale salad. It was my first time having raw kale, with regular dressing on the side, but I was thrilled when I was able to eat it, no problem. However, I remained incredibly full for the rest of the day, and unable to eat anything else. I guess it just took a looooooonnnnngggg time to digest. I also have healed other physical issues well enough to take a fitness class. When I was about 5 years old, I was kicked out of a ballet class because I was too fat (this was well before the days when everyone had a chance to participate!). So the first class I took now was a Barre Conditioning. It felt like a little redemption. I may be a ballerina yet!!
