    Ugh.... 3 Days Away

I know exactly how you feel, I cried more than one river the days before my surgery. I am about 2 weeks out. I had all kinds of fears and emotions before. But I did it and now I am happy that I went through with it. I myself had no problems with the surgery or after. I got myself up after surgery and started walking the hall. I think that made a difference. I really did not experience much pain at all, I took the medicine they gave but it was only because I ddn't want to feel anything. I guess everyone is different but it is doable. I feel that everyone considering this has the same feelings, it is becaue of the unknown. I wish you only the best, and your family will always be your family so you will have to deal with them the best way you can. Do this for yourself - no one else. After all the research I did, gastric sleeve is the best choice. Good luck!

    Liquid Diet Day 2

Day two of the Liguid diet and I have to admit I have already cheated. Garlic cloves are a weakness!! Had about 8 cloves and some onion slices. Candy is not my weakness, thank goodness but I have to be strong. I was a little weak yesterday but I had such a big day. To top it all off I had a "31 Party" (may I add I did awesome) then I had to go to work for a few hours. Today my stomach is hungry but I am fighting through it. I put rubberbands on my bottled water so I can keep track of how many bottles I drink. Seems to be a good system for me considering I can't remember

    Weekend 4/15/12

Saturday, my DH and I hooked up our trailer, loaded our zero-turn mower, and headed to the church. I mowed while he did the weed-eating, and picked up trash around the property. Afterwards, I couldn't stop talking! I had the most energy that I've had in a month, and I think because of being outside, and the physical activity, it got some endorphins bouncing around inside. He was laughing because he said he hadn't seen me this "pumped up" in a while, and he was glad to see it. - He always knows what to say, and that's why he's a happily married man -- go ahead and ask him Today, Sunday, church was wonderful, and after we got home, we both laid back and chilled. That is until the storm was blowing in. So it was a quick run out to the barn to put up all the animals, when suddenly the 70mph winds hit. Thankfully we had just gotten everyone inside, so we hung out with the chickens, goats, and ducks, until the unbelievable downpour slowed enough. I guess this means that I'm going to have to mow our yard this week. Thankfully, I am up to the task! My energy level is better than ever, and I'm really looking forward to what this next week brings.

    Ugh.... 3 Days Away

I'm in a similar situation....I'm a couple of years older, 33, still no kids and my only problem is that I'm obese....my suggestion is think about life afterwards...not the first couple of weeks (we know those will be rough) but think about being healthier, active....enjoying life.... My family is still asking me if I'm sure this is what I want to do, and I tell them, the alternative is living a short life, I rather live, thank you.... When I was your age I decided to have the lapband, because I was scared of the whole rerouting thing with RNY...now 7 years later, if taking 80% of my stomach is what must be done to help me, so be it.... Just remember the reasons why you made the decision for WLS, if you haven't write it down....so you can remind yourself of the positive...

    Discouraged

Not consistently losing before your first fill is normal. I know you are so anxious to began this journey and watch the pounds melt away but unfortunately it does not happen just like that. Restriction and the band working sometimes takes several fills, you have to learn how your body responds to each fill and basically learn to eat again. Have patience and believe in your self and most and foremost do not get discouraged, this is a process and it does not happen over night. I do recommend you take measurements, so many of us lose inches when the scales do not move and this will help you stay motivated. Good luck to you.

I was banded 14 1/2 months ago. Needless to say, I'm still fat. I have no one to blame but myself. I just ate whatever I wanted thinking I would still lose weight. Uh, no. That did not happen. And I wound up gaining more weight. So after a binge on chips and dip 3 weeks ago Wednesday, I finally realized that I cannot continue to live and eat the way I had been. So the very next day, I recommitted myself to making a change in my life. God willing, it will be a lifelong one. I have no clue how much I weighed 3 weeks ago, but I know what I weigh now. And based on the scale, I weighed less than I thought I did when I recommitted, so that's a plus. And as of 2 days ago, I'm back in the 220's. Two twenty-eight to be specific. Yay!! Now onto the NSV. I have a body frame where I'm large from the waist up (very broad back), and smaller from the waist down. My tops are a size or two larger than my pants. Four years ago I lost weight the "right" way. I watched what I ate and exercised 5 days per week. That lasted all of a couple-three months, but in that time, I got down to a size 16. Not a 16W, but a regular ol' 16. So I had a pair of size 16 capris in my closet. Well, I pulled them out of the closet for the first time a couple weeks ago. I was able to wear them, but not zipped or buttoned. I held them up with a rubber band. I do that with all the jeans/pants I can't zip up. I wore those capris again today, using the rubber band to hold them up. As the hours passed, I noticed how loose they were, so I decided to try and zip and button them. And I was able to w/o any effort!!! Yay!! Now, sitting down in them wouldn't be pretty due to my HUGE muffin top. (A lot of my weight is in my stomach) So I need to still lose a good amount of weight in my stomach, but I was still thrilled that I was able to zip up and button a regular size 16 pant!!! That's my first NSV and I hope it's followed by many more.
