    Food Before and After Photos

Bought a slow cooker and this is its first outing: beef cheeks. Two huge 400+g (almost a pound) each cheeks. Had to cut them into quarters after a couple of hours (and they were more tender) otherwise they still would’ve been cooking today. 😉 Forgot the mushrooms so added them a couple of hours in. Supposed to blend the stock & vegetables & simmer to reduce for a gravy but I couldn’t be bothered last night when it was ready. I’ll freeze several portions for future meals.

    Medical cannabis after surgery.

Hello, It’s been a week since i went through a gastric sleeve surgery and I use cannabis oils to help with other health issues, however, sometimes friends come over and i would end up vaping a little bit and now idk if its safe to vape after the surgery.

    Mid-week Checkpoint

So we are at the middle of the week - how are we all doing? What is something that has gone well so far/or something that you are looking forward to? Anything you'd like to learn from/improve on? My week has been okay so far! I have a driving lesson and then I am getting my hair cut, which I am in desperate need of as my fringe is in my eyes 🤦‍♂️ I am trying to increase the amount I am eating, which is proving difficult, but I'll get there! I also start with a personal trainer tomorrow which I am excited about!

Hummmm. I just got mirena in January. Haven’t had a period since so I gave my stockpile of products to my younger cousin. Maybe I should’ve hung onto them. Fingers crossed it still controls it or at least they are not as heavy. Mine were always so awful and idk why but I was so afraid of the pain with inserting it that I waited way to long. It wasn’t as bad as I expected. I do agree that women’s procedures need to be done with more than OTC pain meds. Even worse I got mine post sleeve so I wasn’t supposed to take Alieve and do you think that Dr would give me anything. Nope. Said I would be okay without anything. I made an appt with the NP at my surgeons office though and she told me it was okay to take the alieve as a one off with the sleeve since I was a few years out. They need to just be giving women something for this stuff to start with. You know if it were men getting the same thing they would be changing that right away.

    Sadi is so lonely

Oh wow! I'm on full liquid for a week pre-op - I'm on day two today! So far I haven't wanted to claw anyone's eyes out (lol!) Like I said, I messed up on my first shake of the day yesterday and had one that had an insane 20g of sugar and 50g of carbs in an 8 oz serving! Since then I moved back to my 30g protein shakes that have 1g of sugar each; I had three yesterday and have had two today. I'm surprised that taking 100mg of colace morning and night hasn't had me running for the bathroom yet, so there's that! I had about a cup of sugar free jell-o yesterday throughout the day and have had about a half cup of it so far today. So far my plan is to shower with the Hibiclens Sunday morning, then when I get to the hotel that night. I'll wake up early Monday morning - no fluids after midnight at all - to shower again with the Hibiclens and head over to the hospital. Sunday is my normal sheet change day anyway, so that's good. I expect to be in the hospital for 2-3 days, hopefully getting released on Wednesday the 7th to ride home with my driver. I'll have my fella change the sheets for me at home again before I get settled in. Good thinking on packing light - I know I'll want warm comfy socks (I hate hospital 'socks' though they may make me wear them for traction, idk), the meds I am still allowed to take, and a robe that zippers all the way up the front. I don't plan to take a lot - I'll bring a set of earbuds in case I want to watch something on my phone to pass the time but other than doing the sip-sip-sip of liquids and restarting my Bariatric vitamin I imagine I'll rest as much as I can while still getting up as much as they prompt me to for walking around to work the surgery gas out. I figured I'd just toss a few changes of underclothes, socks, the robe, some comfy clothes to wear home, and meds in a backpack. Oh - And of course my phone charger. Can't go anywhere without THAT! You must REALLY be feeling it about now with your surgery tomorrow morning! Wishing you the very best!

    OOTD

I mostly sew on an as needed basis so In the last year I made: my youngest daughter’s prom dress, 2 satin bias skirts, a wedding dress prototype (just to maintain my skills, no one is getting married 🤡), a month ago I bought a linen dress that was a perfect fit except I didn’t like the neck or arm hole placement so I altered those (I probably won’t even wear it this year) and just today I had to repair a hockey jersey. So not too much sewing 🤣

There are some specific Bariatric journals on Amazon - I don’t know if something like that would help in the beginning?
