    Can’t keep Most food down

Tuesday I’ll be 1 month post op. I was doing so well my first week post op. Getting all my water and protein. Ever since week two days have been hit or miss. I keep water down but food makes me so nauseous. I don’t know what to do. Protein shakes, eggs, lactose… all makes me sick. I’ve thrown up multiple times a week lately. Today I woke up and felt so hungry but I couldn’t keep anything down. I feel like such a failure and so defeated. I regret doing this most days and I feel so alone.

The bum problem is REAL! My tailbone huts like a MF. Ive started just today using a rolled up towel like a donut pillow to deal with tailbone issues. I wonder if I'm going to have to have towels with me everywhere just for this. Hehe...Ive gone the other way, even though I am cold most of the time, I can ONLY drink ice cold water with TONS of ice. In Europe we dont do ice, but since I grew up in the US, ice is a normal thing for me. We even went so far as to buy an ice machine. (We can't get water to the wall the fridge sits on.😔) So ppl kinda laugh at me when I go around with cold coffee year-round.

contact your surgeon in the morning. It's possible this could be a stricture, and if so, you'll need to get that fixed (I had two - at four weeks out and again at eight weeks out. Easy fix and I felt 100% btter immediately. if it's not that, you could be intolerant to eggs and lactose - that is not uncommon, and it's usually temporary. But I would for sure call my clinic in case it's the former reason.

    Mental Health

Hi all, I am 22 years old and I had my gastric sleeve done on June 26th... I've had a really rough time ever since I got surgery, mentally and physically... I question if I made the right decision on doing this? Most of the time I don't feel like eating because I feel nauseous. I take the pills that my doctor prescribed for the nauseous feelings but it seems like it doesn't help. I have no motivation to do anything, I just want to be in bed all day. I cry most of the time thinking about how I have no motivation for anything... I just want to know if anyone else feels like this or has felt like this? What has helped? And when did everyone start feeling better...?

    Gastric r&y

I agree with catwoman! Rice is complicated. I tried it when I was about 4-5 month post op and wished I hadn’t. I became very sick, it felt like I had swallowed a bag of rocks. But, now I am 14 months post op and I can eat rice (in moderation) easily and pain free! So it really just depends on the person!

Congrats on your weight loss so far! You're doing great! 1) Yes, I get hiccups sometimes when I eat too fast. It hurts! 😢 (my surgery has a VSG stomach. Just with the intestinal bypass bit added that makes it the Loop DS) 2) I do stagger sometimes, but I also have arthritis in my knees, hips, and back so I always attribute any staggering to that. But, honestly, you've lost more than 25% of your weight. As the above poster mentioned, your center of gravity may be a bit off and you should be able to adjust over time. 3) Well, I was a 34 in jeans when I was at my highest weight (389 pounds) and my shirts were 6xl. I had clothing from about 15 years before when I was a 26 in jeans and some shirts from high school that ranged from 3xl-4xl so I put off buying clothes for quite a while lol. I went from those 26 jeans straight into an 18 (that I luckily didn't have to buy because my Mom wore this size so she just gave me a few of her pants). I also bought a few xl shirts around that time too. They were all on sale lol. Then I waited and bought 14's when the 18's were sliding off. I also bought a bunch of shirts since I figured I was close to my goal weight at the time so I bought a bunch of larges. I'm now in a size 12 in jeans and wear both medium or large shirts depending on the fit. Personally, I'd say buy a few things off the clearance rack if you can't stand how big your clothes are, but since you'll probably grow out of them pretty fast, don't buy a whole lot.

How many bites to the center of.....

I’m not sure as I take a bunch of tiny bites over about 20 minutes. I weigh my food so I have an idea of when to stop. I know I can get about 1 1/2 to 2 ounces of food in and I’m full. Fullness hits me about 15 minutes after I’ve stopped eating. Not once have I gotten sick or felt like I over ate. Maybe try weighing your food?

4 months out. 1. Always cold... I used to keep the heat at 18C ... now it's usually at 21C 2. 67pds down I'm now having to buy new stretchy pants since the old ones are huge on me 3. I'm losing my bum completely... I always thought I was one of those girls who had a Kim K bum naturally... I guess only when I'm overweight. 4. Dark circles are my trademark look. I never had them before but I guess being low on nutrients means dark circles 5. Gatorade and ice cold water go down the easiest. 6. My knees hurt if I don't cuddle a pillow Sent from my SM-G973W using BariatricPal mobile app
