    Discouraging

In all that huge pile of permissions/acknowledgments/etc. that we sign before surgery, there should be one form, typed in huge block letters, that says "please sign below to indicate that you have been told that your scale is a b***h!" Then that page should be framed and hung above the scale. You are losing fat. You have to be. You're not eating enough to keep a good-sized gerbil happy. However, on the grand platform of hormones, swelling, fluid retention, and just plain contrariness, the scale isn't showing it right now. If you haven't already, please take your measurements! There is hardly ever a time where you don't lose either pounds or inches! Having a second source of confirmation helps to keep you from getting discouraged. ((hugs))

    Scars Are Fading Nicely

If your scars are only on the belly button you can always get a belly button piercing to cover them up. 😁 I used to think that if I ever lost a lot of weight I would get one because I do think they are sexy. But at 54 yrs old I'm thinking I'll be better served investing in a GG Gucci belt 😂🤣 which is my reward when I reach goal weight since they are pretty expensive. But it has always been a dream because my own initials are GG.

    Nyquil

I've taken both without issue. I just read all the ingredients to make sure they don't use NSAIDs.

    Scars Are Fading Nicely

I used to work at a doctors office in the 90's and at that time we recommended vitamin E oil applied directly on the scars. It really worked wonders to reduce the appearance of scars. I tried it while my scars were still healing and it caused an incredible itch so I stopped. I am at 46 days out and your post remind me to try it again now. If it still itches, then it might be too strong for the skin on my abdomen. The capsules are 640mg per soft gel. If it does I'll try the Bio-oil. reading the ingredients it looks like a great product. Thanks for the idea and reminder. 😀

I was sleeved on April 18, 2018 by Saurabh Khandelwal M.D. at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle WA. Dr Khandelwal is the Director of the Weight Loss Center. He explained what was happening both before and after surgery and easy to understand terms.

    Recovery

I also had a drain. I had to baby it. I emptied, measured cleaned and logged its contents. It was work. But I believe I'm healthier for it. I had low energy for quite some time after surgery but i rolled with it instead of fighting against it. I didn't need stress adding complications to the pot so i tried to remain super chill about everything. It was major surgery after all and i was honesty happy to be alive. My incisions took a while to heal and were very itchy so i cleaned *around* the incisions with alcohol before putting the hydrocortisone cream *near* the incisions. It helped alot. One week down many more to go !
