I started at 463, and I'm at 285. I'm down 2 shirt sizes and 3 pants sizes. So, it's taken me losing 177 pounds to get down 2 shirt sizes. Just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing and the weight will come off.

This is a pretty subjective area, *most* don't see any real losses in that area until much later down the road, belly fat seems to be the last to go for most people. I've still got a decent amount even after over 100 lbs since revision and 160 lbs lost since I started...

    Weight Loss After Surgery

"Stalls" suck, just understand that we really want to worry about fat loss, I know it's called "Weight Loss Surgery" but really it should be called "Fat Loss Surgery" since we don't want to just lose *any* weight, we want that weight to be from fat and not muscle or bone density. Keep up on the water, current medical research shows that working towards 128 oz of water a day is optimal for both proper hydration AND fat processing. When you stall, if you are not tracking body fat %'s, focus on things like, how your rings and clothing are fitting, you could be losing fat and not losing "weight", there were so many days where my poundage wouldn't move or would climb, but my body fat % would decrease. So you can be losing fat and not losing weight. Just something to be aware of.

    plateau in weight loss

Thank you! I'm starting to feel like I'm hitting my lower limit, Been stuck around 209 - 211 for a bit now... hopefully things break and I can hit Onederland... but I'm happy where I am if that never does actually happen. I'm right around where I was (less the extra weight from the extra skin) now as I was when I was 20. Which is cool.

    Insurance approval

I went to a bariatric specific hospital so my insurance advocate had it on her calendar to request my records from my PCP the day after my last appointment. She submitted it that day and she called me 2 days later with the approval. From there it took 2 buisiness days to get scheduled. My surgery ways 10 days from scheduling. I’m pretty sure my experience is best case senario. I would just make sure to be your own advocate and follow up and make sure records are getting where they need to go.

I agree. Sometimes, yes, it's hard to watch other effortlessly succeed while you struggle and fight for every lb/kg lost. This is where self-care needs to step in. Do only what helps and not what harms. But you have to know yourself enough to get that far.
