    Gastric Bypass Reversal

Thank you Orchids I have been on the 3 different meds to control the ulcers and unfortunately they are not as successful as they need to be. I am 5'9 and 50 years old and have actually lost over 180 pounds and am still losing so it is not a good situation to be in. I am hopeful someone on this site may have been through this, I am a Consumer Loan Officer at a bank and it is very difficult coming to work and putting on a smile when you are nauseated after every meal you have eaten.

    Too Much of Too Much

Right now, at one-month post-op (and starting during the last few months of pre-op), my daily life has been all about my surgery and protein and fluids and exercise and this forum. More and more, I’ve been actively seeking diversions from this focus. Not food-related diversions, though. . My career requires a tremendous amount of creative focus, so I need to be able to break away from “this WLS life” that has been taking center stage. Does this make sense? I intend to follow and keep up with the various lifestyle changes that I’ve committed to, but it’s becoming too much of too much. Visiting this site multiple times per day is bordering on an addiction. . For those who frequent this forum, how do you maintain the focus and stamina to comment day after day after day? Given my short window of participation here, I’m not convinced that I’d be missed much.

    Reduced food following WLS

Here is the perspective of one bariatric surgeon on how our meal volume progresses over time. In short, after a few years, we will typically be able to eat about half of what we could eat pre-op in a sitting or meal. This is consistent with my experience at seven years out, and my wife's at thirteen years out. There is still enough restriction to aid in effective long term weight control, but also plenty of capacity to go overboard on the wrong foods and see extensive regain. This doc is one of the few that I have seen that discusses this aspect of our surgery, and offers a prescription on how to mitigate the negatives of it. You may or may not get along with his prescription (I don't buy into everything he says....) but he does offer a model that we can use to develop our own approach to long term maintenance and weight control.

That’s amazing! All of you have lost a lot. I guess the important part is that the number on the scale keeps going down, not how fast it takes. Fingers crossed!!

    Premier Protein Ins. Coverage

I went through the website and applied and they called me the next day to verify my insurance info and ask if i wanted the other products that they offer before they run my insurance. I then get a call the day after that telling me that my insurance does not cover any of it. Sad. Oh well.
