Myself I have always taken vitamins made for WL people. I know after I fired my Surgeon and went to another Bariatric Surgeon and was told that FLINTSTONE Vitamins if doubled, would be enough. But they were horrible!! After my RNY I was told to use chewable Centrum, way too sweet for me. I couldn't wait to get something else. In comes CELEBRATE capsules. If you wanted to (told by my DR) you can open them and sprinkle them on applesauce or other food. I had no problems swallowing them. I do feel it is very important to use Bariatric Vitamins but each to their own. I hope you can get this worked out.

    Any advice please

This is why they say "Call the office with questions or concerns" I absolutely understand being hesitant to do this and risk having your surgery delayed...but you have to put your safety first. You want the best outcome possible....so you need to come clean with your team. Give them a call first thing Monday morning. What you're describing might not be a problem. A cold without a fever usually won't disqualify you from surgery, and getting your period typically won't, either. BUT! Your team needs to weigh in on these things, and they might want to run a little last minute complete blood count to make sure your cold isn't something more serious, and gauge the severity of your anemia. They cannot do their job properly without complete information. Please call them. And good luck with your surgery...so sorry you've got these complications. Bad luck! Wishing you the best.

I can't understand what your saying in the second part about neutral being what you wanted to hear. All I know is I chew normal I don't know about anything else. Neither do I sit timing my meal. I eat Finnish move on the next task so can't answer your question. I have two kids I don't sit seeing how long it takes I'm sat talking and eating etc.

    How was everyone's Thanksgiving.

Mine went well, ate a little too much, no sickness, just discomfort that a 30 min walk helped. On a plus side I lost a lb. Makes me wonder if my diet was too lean before, as I platued for 3 weeks

    Got Approved!

I’m so excited, my insurance approved in less than a day! My dream of being sleeved this year is coming true! I have a surgery date of December 20, a wonderful early Christmas present. I know for me it was important deductible wise to get surgery in this calendar year but I didn’t think it would happen.

    Bad Experience

So I'm having a really bad patient care experience with Penn Medicine's program and it has lead me to lose complete confidence in my surgeon, Dr. Gary Korus. His staff have been unfriendly, dismissive, and act put out when I have legitimate questions and am confused. If you are considering Penn Medicine to have your surgery done, I would reconsider. The whole program has been less than professional, almost from the beginning. I am lucky in that I found Christiana Care in Delaware and they're more than happy to let me transfer in and I don't have to wait for fscking months on end - I've got an appointment on Thursday, November 30th.

Def Self Pay - Now, Where To Go...?

I had the VSG in Mexico in August of 2015 because my relatively low BMI disqualified from me receiving any coverage from my insurance, and it would have cost a small fortune to have the surgery in California where I reside. My total cost was $4200, which included a hotel stay at the Marriott and local transportation. I had a very positive experience there, no complications, and consider the surgery to be a tremendous success. My reproductive endocrinologist had recommended the surgery to me for my PCOS, and has done the follow-up blood work. I was initially very skeptical about going out of country for the surgery, but after researching it felt confident about the decision. "Medical tourism" has become an increasingly popular option for Americans and Canadians, and many of the facilities and surgeons outside of the US are equal to or even superior, but of course it's imperative to do thorough research before proceeding.
