    I'm overweight, wohoo!

I also hit an overweight BMI today. I started at a BMI of 50 just over a year ago. Congrats to us! Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

LOL Thanks! It is far away but my surgeon is backed up. I was actually afraid it would be February. However, I will be able to enjoy a business trip to my former home and see friends, and holiday parties (within reason). And it'll be a new year, new me!

    Regretting my surgery.

Rayelen, I'd take it a step further and say I think everyone should be in therapy -- so worthwhile.

    It's already started.

It's easy to get upset at the offending partner when they make comments like that, but honestly take it from someone who's been married for 30 years, it all comes from a place of insecurity and fear of the unknown....for both of you. You need to help her understand that your journey to a healthier you is only going to make you a happier, more fulfilled person, which in turn should make her happy, too. Try to reassure her how important her love and support will mean to you as embark on this new chapter of your lives. After all, change is a normal, contstant part of life, and the strongest relationships can adapt. As far as her not being willing to change her lifestyle, you can't control what she does, only how you react to it. YOU are choosing to do this, not her. Find another support system if need be. As long as she can at least emotionally support you, there's no need for her to change her activity and eating habits if she doesn't want to. My husband didn't, and I did just fine. You will too if you REALLY want to. She may also surprise you and come around.

    Regretting my surgery.

Rose, I would go back to |Therapy for the depression and regretting having the sleeve. Im sure at your age dear it seems like forever that you are having to hold things down as you are. But in fact you are setting the base for your future for a healthier life, Not just for your body inside and out but for your Mental state as well. Please do not regret this surgery. I just came out of Gastric bypass October 3rd myself. I was like 2 lbs smaller then you when I started this and now im down to 230 pounds. Im glad you chose the sleeve over the band. I had the band and boy did it ever fail. Your not much taller then I am either and our goals are the same for the weight. So please, seek out the theropy that will work the best for you, keep your head up and continue your weight loss. Use your book (phases) as your bible and your work out place as your church and be faith full to yourself.

Liquids don't challenge the sleeve, so you won't feel full with them. There's no accurate way to determine your sleeve's size until you're eating solid protein (read: chicken, pork chops, steak). For many sleevers, pureed food doesn't even challenge the sleeve because these foods have been altered to a thickened liquid consistency. Good luck to you.

10 days post op no loss?

I agree with jenn1, and will add that you no doubt lost pounds on your pre-op liquid diet. Your body just needs to catch up. You will start losing soon. I lost 25 pounds on my 2 week pre-op diet, and lost nothing my first week. I was told not to get on the scale for the 1st week or so anyway, because your body has to release the IV fluid and water weight resulting from it.

its now been 4.5 years since I was sleeved. my high weight was 323 lbs. my goal weight was low 180's. I did reach goal weight but over the years I realized that my desired goal weight was too low for me. now for the last 2 years ive steadily maintained a weight in the mid 190's and that appears to be where im supposed to be and im happy with that weight. today 10/1/17 I weight 195 lbs. I exercise 3-4 times a week and my choice of exercise is running. I will also be running the 2018 boston marathon and im so excited about being able to run this historic race! im running it for the jimmy v foundation for cancer research and ive committed to raising $6000 which is no easy task. if any of you have ever been affected by this terrible illness feel free to click the link after this post and make a 100% tax deductible donation to the jimmy v foundation for cancer research. every dollar donated goes to research. you will be supporting my run and a cause that affects everyone as everyone knows someone that has been affected by cancer. as far as my eating, I still have to be very mindful of what I put in my mouth. I can eat much more today than I could 2 years ago but still no where near what I could eat before having the surgery. hope everyone on their journey is doing well and feel free to ask any questions. im also attaching my before pic and a few current pics taken last week. have a great day! heres my donation link for anyone willing to support this wonderful cause: http://jimmyv.convio.net/site/TR/Endurance/General?px=1409952&pg=personal&fr_id=1370
