His whole life story is here in pictures. Note the last picture which shows his totally toned body with the layer of loose skin on it. He is seeking help for reconstructive surgery.

  3. Wondering about olive/darker skinned women who've had cosmetic surgery to better understand scarring. I'm eastern Indian and have an olive complexion. I wear like a medium beige in foundations for example. My husband who is white and I were sleeved the same day 3 months ago. His scars have almost disappeared, but mine are sort of burgundy/brown and clearly visible. Although I am months from having cosmetic surgery (years?) every time I bring it up, my husband worries about the scarring given the extra melanin I carry. I'm wondering if there are East Indian, Latina, Greek, etc men and women who've had cosmetic surgery and can help me understand what to expect? Even …

I am proud to say that I was able to put a sports bra on, a size small shirt (just testing to see if I would need a totally new size wardrobe) and my jeans on for the first time (although they are my larger ones adn I cant button them fully because of tummy swelling). Went to the corner store to get out of the house (literally 5 min drive), walked around and bought a few essentials and returned home. I almost felt human again lol. Recap on healing: Breasts- Funnily enough, my breast lift and implants are the least of my worries. There is a stiffness from the implants stretching the muscles but the most significant thing I am focusing on is how unusual they look. I…

How close were you to goal weight before you had surgery ? I see a lot of after pics where the person seems to have an odd thick shape and I don't want that, is that because they still had access fat to lose and not just skin ? Has anyone ever used a teaching hospital where residents do the work under supervision ? My price quoted from them was half that of others but I would like to hear thoughts on this. Also if you had surgery (tummy tuck/breast lift w/augmentation) how long were you off work ? Thanks !

  10. OK ladies...this one is for you So you may consider cosmetic surgery after losing weight at some point and breast augmentation tops the list typically. I am postop day 12 and had a tummy tuck, arm lift, breast lift and augmentation. Everything is going swell. However, I just can't get over these implants. I had SOME awareness that implants (especially very large ones) rest high on the chest and slowly drop underneath the muscle into their proper and intended positions over time. What I did not realize is that it would take months for this to happen and can take up to a year for them to reach their final destination and look. Naturally, the larger the implant, t…

Hi all. wondering if anyone has BCBS Michigan PPO and has had success getting coverage for plastics. Back when I started my wls journey in 2008 or so I think the only requirement was 100 pounds lost and maintained for six months. I called the insurance company today and they told me TT is covered at 80%. If I get them to cover I'll probably be out of pocket about $1,500.00 for the TT. The problem is that the insurance rep didn't really seem able to tell me what the current requirements for TT for WLS patients are. Panni is not covered at all, go figure. My boobs are also looking like a pair of gym socks and my thighs are hanging a bit so hoping I can do something t…

I have a question in with the surgeon, but I wonder if anyone had excessuive thirst following plastic surgeries? I have been tested for diabetes in the last month, so I doubt that is it. I am drinking huge amounts of non caffeinated beverages - Water, Vitamin waters, Protein drinks. My urine is basically clear or close to clear and I have to go often. I realized that due to my fear of swelling I have been avoiding sodium like the plague. It occurred to me that I might be creating an imbalance so I had half an Ostrim Jerky stick and my dinner had canned diced tomatoes as an ingredient - I could taste the salt - so that seems like it would bring me up to the a normall…

Hello all!! I have scheduled a plastic surgery, and of course i will do whatever my lapband surgeon recommends, but i was just wondering if anyone had experience with this. Do i need to be loosened prior to surgery? I love the level that im at, i think ive finally reached my sweet spot. The plastic surgeon specializes in post weight loss plastic surgery and said that hes never recommended to loosen the band and that his patients never had a problem. I have an appointment with my band surgeon and will ask him,, but has anyone had surgery without being loosened? Thanks!

My DH is finally coming around to the idea of me traveling abroad for plastics. I want to be able to present different choices of plastic surgeon to him. Therefore, I was hoping we could put together a master list if you will of "trusted" "previously used by the community" drs. It's so difficult going from thread to thread looking for a hint of a dr's name. I'm sure this will be so helpful for those looking for a dr. Anybody agree?

  24. I lost quite a bit of weight PRIOR to WLS, then had a TT. After my TT, I had the mind set that "now I no longer have to be as careful about what I eat". Of course that thinking led me to ultimately need WLS. Just saying, don't fall into the same trap I did. Even after a TT it is still possible to gain In your abdomen. Your weight line increases and your upper abdomen will get fuller.

I'm exercising vigorously, strength training, keeping hydrated and moisturized. Im 23, I have a child who was born via c-section and ive been over weight my entire life. So I might need a TT and arm lift...and maybe breast augmentation. Anyhoo, my question is, has anyone had surgery done by a plastic surgeon in Austin or close by cities? Hi All, Just Sharing. I had my first appointment with the plastic surgeon concerning my belly. I am running 3 miles a day X 5 days a week. I battle a chronic rash. I actually thought it was all cleared up only to find it is still there. I guess it makes sense that I wouldn't know since I've had 3 C-sections and have no feeling around the scar area. All the more reason to loose the skin! Anyway, about 10 days till I find out yes or no. Now it is the waiting game. Planning on a bladder sling at the same time. Since loosing all this weight I can't sneeze without peeing! Hope this isn't tmi! Fingers crossed!
