I had an extended TT and breast lift 2 weeks ago Monday. I know I had major surgery and should be patient with my recovery. I'm wondering for those who have had surgery, how long did it take you to feel like yourself again? When could you grocery shop or shop for a new pieces of clothing? I guess I've watched enough tv and read enough books that I'm going a little stir crazy. I miss my active lifestyle.

Had my sleeve done in Nov at the Obesity control Center in Tijuana. It was an awesome experience and I am currently down 101lbs. I am getting close to my goal and am looking into plastics for my tummy, thighs and breast. OCC is connected to the Ariel Center and I am wondering if anyone has gone there and what their experience and results were like?

I'm about 15 mos PO. I'm beginning the search for a plastics surgeon. There are three main surgeons in the city closest to me. I really only like the work and reviews of one of them. I am considering US travel. Do you think the Real Self website is a good source for finding surgeons to further research? What other sources have you used? What do you think about surgeons charging for consultation? Thanks for the tips!

My insurance has approved codes 15830 and 15847. My question is for anyone who knows about insurance. When the plastic surgeon called they said they wanted me to come in and go over my insurance benefits and discuss the "cosmetic" cost of the procedure. Are they going to try and sell me other things or are they going to try and tell me that there are things that are my cost that really shouldn't be? Insurance said they are covering both procedures and everything that goes along with them so what could I possible have to discuss cosmetically? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Here's what my insurance states: Clinical Conditions Reconstructive …

Just thought this info might help people considering cosmetics. It shows before and afters of all the surgeries that you can have done. There is also a section for bariatrics. It also shows the importance of finding experienced doctors. I found it helpful when I recently had cosmetics. I am so happy to have my sleeve! And feel great! I wish the same for you! The website is called makemeheal and I hope someone finds it useful.

Last night I watched the show Extreme Weight Loss, and was happy to see that they again included the removal of excess skin as part of the process of this mans journey to the new him. I mentioned it on a WLS site, which started a vocal dialog of people wanting to complete their journey but feeling they couldn't due to restrictions placed on them because of the government or their insurance company. I was surprised, how many people feel stuck in their old skin due to not having insurance. Maybe I didn't feel stuck due to insurance woes since I haven't had any support from insurance along the way, as I was a self pay for my RNY years ago... This got me thinking how much a…

Hi… Can anyone recommend a great doctor . My surgeons one of the top but my gut is telling me to go to a specialist plastic surgeon that specializes in just face and neck. (Basically your face )I went to one in North Jersey and he recommended liposuctions for my neck considering I'm young. I saw many many plastic surgeons and not one of them thought that Lipo was a good idea considering it's skin not fat!! I also went to seminars and many of the doctors feel lifestyle lift is a big no-no, no wires in-your-facex(please stay far away from life list).so if anyone has a time please let me know of a doctor in the tri-state area.

The photos attached are what I look like now after loosing over 100 lbs, I workout and have even been doing bootcamps and help from a personal trainer. I cannot get rid of this... I do not want to be all botched up I am wanting the surgery that has the thin scar that goes all the way around the body, I do not want the one that has the big scar going up the middle of the body. Can anyone tell me what it's called? I'm wanting more than a tummy tuck!! Thank you and hope the pics are not too offensive.

After seeing some of your rave reviews and before and after pics, plastics in TJ is looking better every day! My question is about getting into TJ. I'm no where near Mexico, so how would you guys recommend getting there? Fly into Mexico or fly into Cali?

I know when you begin healing you will itch. This is crazy! I had extended TT and breast lift 12 days ago. I'm laying here awake going absolutely crazy wanting to itch so bad from below my breasts past my belly button. What's a girl to do???

Hello all, I had the sleeve in Dec of last year. My boobs are a size DD. And pretty pitiful looking right now. I need some advice about which doctors are good, type of surgery you had, healing time and what to expect when going to Mexico to have it done. Thank you for any and all info you can share. Tina

Just curous if anyone has went to the Lifestyle Lift for their face. I am 57 and trying to decide on what I want to invest in. I know for sure I want the face and arms done. They are the hardest to hide. Even though I need it, I am not sure if I should have thighs, tummy and breasts.. LOL seems like a waste of money at this point in my life. Any thoughts?

Scheduled for a double hernia repair and panni on July 18th. Any thoughts on how long I might be sleeping in a recliner? Thinking I won't be laying flat in my bed for a while!

Anybody use him for plastics?? Very interested in him and his work. He responded so quickly and called me less than a day after my email to him. Love how he cares and explains himself with full details. Looking on using him for my LBL and lift without implants. He said he will do a fat transfer to help with my lift . If you've used him Id love to hear about it!

For those who traveled to Mexico for plastics, did you buy your airfare round trip or do one way till you knew later on exactly how long you'd need to stay there?

Just wondering if anyone's health insurance paid for any reconstructive surgery? I'm going to need a total lift. I know my insurance won't pay, but I'm wondering if they may pay for a breast reduction.

So I just had my TT 2 days ago and came home yesterday. I was very very excited to finally be having the op and was of course expecting some pain / discomfort after. My surgery went well, except my surgeon had some issues with my belly button, because of the scar from my sleeve, but he seems to think it's all ok. He removed 18cm (7 inches) of skin from by stomach and I have a 36 cm incision (14 inches), from hip to hip. He also sewed by stomach muscles together a bit and did some lipo on my upper stomach, he says that I should get an excellent result My drains are coming out tomorrow which I think will make me more comfortable. I can't stand up straight at the mome…

So I was wondering if anyone experienced weight gain right after having plastic surgery? I had a tummy tuck, arm lift, breast lift and augmentation last Tuesday and went from 113lbs to 129lbs. It's kinda freaking me out!!

When I started on this journey a little over 2 years ago, I never, ever considered plastic surgery. My lap band has been challenging, but I wouldn't change a thing (maybe get it sooner instead of waiting for so long); I am five pounds from goal. I can't believe how much the breast lift and tummy tuck helped getting rid of excessive skin. Stay on the journey for you. It is not the easy way out; I have faithfully seen my lap doctor ever 8 weeks. Good Luck

I had my PS on Monday and have been sitting home watching what not to wear on TLC. It gets me very excited about my new body. I had a breast lift, tt, and a little lipo on my thighs. I'm curious how long I should expect to wait to go bra and clothes shopping. I know I will have swelling for a bit but will this be a gradual process? Any feedback is helpful. Thank you!

I need a hernia repair and decided to remove the skin as well. Trying not to chicken out lol. Decisions decisions. Anybody had this? Another 30 lbs to go.

Can Anybody give me the lowdown on what its like? I'm getting a breast reduction next Tuesday. Recovery time, feeling?

I'm having a tummy tuck and breast lift on Monday morning. I wasn't this scared for my sleeve surgery. I think I'm more worried about the recovery. I can't imagine coming home with a catheter and drains. Should be interesting. Just trying to keep my eye on the prize. This is the last step on the body transformation journey I've been on since December 2012. I've lost the weight and now this will help me feel good about my appearance. Positive thoughts...the best is yet to come. ????

Hello friends, Some of you might remember me from before, I had my VSG almost 4 years ago, but I haven't really posted for the last 2 years. For those of you who have never met me, I went from 208 to 136 (highest-lowest), and 208-149 overall. I have worked hard to reshape my body with weight training and I guess I have been very successful, BUT I am still plagued by lower body flabbiness, so I came to the conclusion that surgery was needed if I wanted any more improvement. I went to see two plastic surgeons in regards to a posterior-lateral body lift. Both were 100% against doing a medial thigh lift on me even though my inner thighs are certainly an area of minor fat acc…

Hey everybody, been a long time since I have posted anything. I am 51 years old and 16 months out from my lap band surgery. I am at the Dr.'s goal, but not my personal goal. I started at 223 lbs. I am 5'6". I am down to 157 and would like to lose another 7-10. I currently wear a size 8 or 10. A size I never thought I would see again. I am very pleased with my lap band and have never regretted it for one second. Last Thursday, I had a Breast Lift, Augmentation, Fat Transfer, and Liposuction of the stomach, hips, flanks, and back. The 66 lb weight loss left me with sagging boobs, and a muffin top. Not the look I was going to be happy with. I found a wonderful pl…

Okay, I saw a local doctor and he mentioned that he could make an amazing difference on my face doing fat injections in my upper cheek. I have that "lost alot of weight" sorta drawn look. I don't have wrinkles or really feel I need a face lift but this would be amazing. I asked him about the other injectables (botox etc etc) and he said your own fat gives much more natural results AND is less risky in terms of complications. What say all of you that have had anything like this done? Did you get bruising on your face and how long did that last?

Wow! Someone just shared this website with me. Apparently this Medical Center does Plastic Surgery. While the surgeons are finishing up their training they perform plastic surgery for much less than other surgeons. Now, I always ALWAYS advise anyone to do your homework before choosing any surgeon to do any surgery on your body - but just wanted to throw this hat out in the ring for anyone looking around. I plan to look more into it when the time gets closer. I've saved the website in my favorites... Here's the link...

I had a consult today.. I'm excited and can't wait. I am 20 pounds from goal. They said for me to make an appointment after I lose 10 pounds to see the Dr. Then at that time we will schedule for the surgery. I will be getting a breast lift/reduction, tummy tuck, and some lipo. The quote was just over $12,000. I can't wait!! I'm so blessed that I have a great husband who will be helping with the payment. My sleeve was paid for through insurance. .. but the plastic surgery will all be out of pocket.

8 days ago I had my abdominoplasty with vertical extension! I couldn't be happier. My surgeon removed 23 lbs of loose skin just from my stomach alone! I made the decision to only have my stomach done and I will have my arms, legs and breasts done once I am at my goal weight. After almost a whole year of not moving up or down in my weight I felt completely stuck. I couldn't believe that I was going to just stay at that weight when I had come so far already, I just knew I wasn't ready to be done. After consulting with my family doctor, she suggested that it might be time for the skin removal. The recovery will take a few more weeks, but I already know if was the perfect tim…

I'm just 2 shorts weeks from my scheduled tummy tuck. I'm making a last ditch effort to weight train (arms) and build my stomach muscles. The surgeon wasn't sure how much muscle I had and the condition of them after a C-section and VSG. Has anyone worked extra hard before their TT to build muscle and do you think it helped? Any advice on things I should wear after (sports bra) and things I should have in the house? Thanks for any guidance.

Hello! Does anyone know of a good plastic surgeon on Long Island? I want a tummy tuck and to re-inflate the girls.

Hey guys I'm about 25# from my goal weight and have a large pannis, I've had it all along but as you know with weight loss it's become increasingly droopy and floppy! I am now running and it's painful, I have to buy smaller bottoms so they hold it in place(which is also not that comfy) I keep it clean but have had yeast growth which I also treat and manage well! I saw my surgeon yesterday for my 6 month appt and he was so pleased with my progress, I asked him about the possibility of removing this prior to the end of my journey bc it's making life increasingly painful and also my PT thinks it hanging down has restricted the way my hips move both seated(they rotate out ins…

I am so excited/nervous. I'm going in tomorrow at 0615 for a tummy tuck and inner thigh lift. I had the sleeve in February 2013. Lost 115 pounds. I had the sleeve at a MTF and the same surgeon does tummy tucks. I have seen quite a few examples of his work at the WL support group here at FT Carson. I cannot wait to have my stomach look as good as the other ladies in this group! The same MTF has a plastic surgeon. Since I am already in surgery for the tummy tuck(insurance paid) the plastic surgeon will do my thighs during the same session. I am so much more anxious about this than the sleeve. It

Hello There, So I have been at my goal weight for a while and am starting to think about a tummy tuck, just wanted to ask if anyone knows if there is anything that can be done about the scars left after lap band and sleeve revison surgery at the same time as the TT? I TT would be a massive improvement for me but I think that I would probably still be left with at least 2 of the scars I have now and they might look even bigger if they are sterched down. Has anyone experienced this? I have a couple of consultations this week, so will of course ask the surgeons too.
