  1. Yes sip the water. I find warm or room temp water much easier. I've heard that for some others too. It will get better!
  2. Why not everyday is easy and you will always battle I am down 145 pounds. In fact weigh145 pounds and I'm at a healthy Bmi and see a trainer to continue to build muscle and tighten skin. I am happy and most of all healthy. I'm happy to give advice if anyone is struggling.
  3. I realize there are many different procedures for this, however wondering if someone can share what recovery is like? How much time off of work, drains, compression wer etc..... Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk
  4. I am wonderign if anyoen else has expereined this issue. I had my first fill 2 1/2 weeks ago, all of a sudden after I swallow (even well chewed food) I will feel this pain in my back? This can even be after the first bite? WOndering what it could be? I have been trying to eat consciously eat slwoer, smaller bites, etc. Still happens. It is not as if I am not hungry because I am. I am following the directions well. no snacking, protein first, etc. Anyone else expereinced this?
  5. I was banded 11/14 and I hae been feeling the same way. Now that swelling is down and all of that I keep thinking "is this really going to work?" I have not had a fill yet, my surgeon does not do one until 8 weeks post op. I am nervous. Yet I also knwo this is the time for healing however I wouldnt be human if I wasnt a little bit dissappointed. I keep telling myself yes this will be worth it. I continue to exercise so that it becomes a part of my life. Right now I coudl eat way more than 1/2 cup of food.
  6. Here are my updates: Current weight is: 266 Surgery weight was: 272 My Highest weight was actually 290 My preop weight when I started the diet was 287 Thanks
  7. Okay absolutely dumb question but how do you puree the chicken? AllI can picture is baby food meats and it makes me sick to my stomach. My surgery was last friday the 14th adn my doc has m eon 1 week clear liquid, 1 week full liquid, then mushie and then pureed for about 4 weeks. I am starving! I had a cry fest in my bowl of chicken broth this afternoon.
  8. Well my surgery was on Friday the 14th. I was also first up. 7:40 am surgery, in recovery by 8:45 am and home by 1:30. No pain pump. The gas pain has been horrendous for the two days. Lots of getting up and walking. I have not been able to eat anything but sips of water and a couple bites of sf jello. The gas pains feel like they might be letting up a bit so hopefully I can eat a little bit more liquid. My doctor has me on 1 weel clear liquid, 1 week full liquid, 1 week pureed food, and weeks 4-8 are soft foods. As hard as it is at the moment it is totally worth it.
  9. You guys do nto have to be on a clear liquid diet for the first week? Lucky! I told my husband there are some advantages to NOT having thanksgving dinner. For example, I do not feel we shoudl have to participate in any sort of clean-up duties. To me that would be just torture! I am lucky and do not host Thanksgiving so I do not have to cook. I did tell my mother-in-law so she does not think I am rude on Thanksgiving. I did not tell my whole family so they will just have to deal with the clean-up this year and I do not care what they think.
  10. I am with you I not knowing what to tell the kids. I have a 9 year old (Spencer too!) and a 5 year old. My 9 year old will worry, my 5 year old will probably care less. Good luck with your surgery!
  11. thanks for sharing. I have 6 days until my surgery, not lookign forward ot the gas pains. But I can deal with 2 -3 days of gas for a lifetime of health!
  12. Surgery Date: November 14th Highest: 287 Pre-op diet started: October 20th Current:280 Goal:150
  13. I am being banded November 14th. I can not wait, I am completely obsessed with it. It is seriously all I can think about. I am also getting nervous as the holidays are just around the corner. I am happy to not go through another holiday season eating everything, however I also am a realist and know how hard that will be as well.
  14. What is muscle milk and where do I get it. I will begin my preop diet in 3 days.
