So i'm 13 days post opp and I'm walking 2 miles a day. I feel great and can't believe the difference. I've not had any issue with my pouch or eating at all. I'm very mindful to only eat 6 OZ at a meal and no snacking at all. I'm getting about 50G of Protein a day and am trying to increase it. I put the strawberry flavored Protein powder in my yogurt or add the non flavored one to cottage cheese. I did make an awesome chicken salad using Fat Free Ranch Dressing and it turned out excellent. I also made egg salad and added protein power into the mix. I'm doing great and can't believe how good i'm doing. I don't have hunger like i used to. Last night I almost forgot…

It's been a while since I weighted in. I'm over 90 lbs lost. I went from a 22/24 to a 12. I haven't been in a 12 since middle school. I have regained my life and haven't been more happy.

170 days after starting my preop diet I am down 78 pounds and officially at my surgeon's goal weight. There really are no words to express what I am feeling. It's a wonderful thing, but also kind of a weird let down. Maybe because I don't know how to celebrate. Celebration always meant food and alcohol. Now what do I do? ( And don't say excercise or go for a walk....or I might have to cyber slap you). I guess what I'm gonna do is go for a couple great horseback rides this weekend, wearing my brand new boots I just got yesterday. I'm sure no one (besides me) is happier and appreciates my weight loss more than my horse!

Down 52 lbs went from over 300 lbs now in the low 250s. I can see my weight loss and also can feel my bones on every part of my body. I'm experiencing pain if people grab my arms or touch my legs. Some 1 hugged me around my shoulders. The pain made me scream. Is this normal.

OK, this is actually kinda embarrassing. I'm not one to post pics of myself but when I did on another thread because someone wanted to see what I looked like, I got a great response. And I'm not talking about fishing for compliments. Again...I'm not comfortable with that kind of thing. I'm posting these because some folks got encouragement from looking at my pics. So if this helps anyone out there to do the work and see their own good results, then I'm OK with it. So anyway, here they are.

Hello everyone! I was banded 5/6 and yesterday had my 1st nsv! My mom and dad have been telling me they could tell I've been losing the weight but honestly I hadn't been able to tell yet. I've been working hard though this past week when I started feeling better from surgery. (19 lbs lost) Well yesterday was my nephews bday and usually I hate getting dressed up to go places bc I've felt no matter what I wear I look awful.(might I add both of my sisters put together weigh as much as me by myself) Well I pulled out some old clothes I haven't worn in a yr or longer. Clothes actually fit!!!! And we're loose!!!!!I actually thought I looked really pretty and when I got there m…

I remember being a few weeks away from surgery just one year ago and really wondering if I was doing the right thing. I was constantly looking at before and after pictures on here and wondering if I could really do it. I had NO IDEA how big I was and still cannot believe it when I see it in pictures today. I am so happy I had this surgery and am constantly motivated by this forum so I thought I would share! My first picture is what I use as my before (even though it was really about 3 weeks after surgery) but I always avoided the camera so I do not really have any "posed" pictures of me before. The second one is around the 6 month mark and the last one was a few week…

Back in jan / dec I started a post "the new me in 14" and wanted to let everyone how much my life has changed since having surgery. These past couple of weekends have been terrific, went to six flags and rode roller coasters with fear that I wouldn't fit in the seat or that the straps wouldn't hold me, went to a May-fest and enjoyed walking around all day enjoyed paddle-boating with the kids and the best part was not spending a fortune on food, had a shrimp kabob and was good for the afternoon. I have so much more engery, I really have been blesses and enjoying this new journey. I wish everyone has the same success and happiness with thier journey as well.

I was told that I would never be able to conceive with out the help of Ivf. I did 2 runs of it and have 3 beautiful little Girls. Now fast forward. I had surgery on May 31 2013 and I am currently down 110 pounds. On Jan 07 2014 I went to the Emergency room for Gallbladder pain, turned out I needed emergency surgery. They admitted me and I had it removed that day. I went back a week later for abdominal pain and was told that I was pregnant. I freaked out and told them that A. I just had surgery a week prior and B. I was told I couldn't have kids and had to do Ivf for all my girls. I ended up losing my pregnancy because of the surgery. I am angry and hurt. I was pre…

Hello everyone ~ First, I want to say thanks to all who share their stories, and offer support and advice. Since discovering this site, I have learned so much in addition to what I learned during the pre-op visits to my surgeon's office. Everyone is so supportive and full of wisdom and humor! I am excited to share that I am down 50 pounds since beginning my journey a few months ago. It has been a lot of hard work, and trial and error, but so worth it. To anyone who might be considering WLS, I definitly recommend it, especially if you have health issues. I am now off all prescription medications. My blood pressure is normal again, my arthritis pain has diminished…

I had my 1 year on the 8th but due to a nasty stomach virus I was unable to go, so I went today. I'm down 91 pounds from my revision weight, and 134 from my highest. I had 100% perfect labs, and my surgeon that is normally very to the point called me a "superstar" It just made my day. I also did my measurements and I'm now a 33-28-32. I can wear a size 3 in every brand, and as small as a 0 in some brands. Today was one of the happiest days of my life!!

I am really scared that I won't lose anymore weight. I have lost 9 since surgery 2 weeks ago, which I know is good, but i still worry. I guess because every diet I have ever done didn't work long term. Like I said I know this is prob irrational but does anyone out there feel that too?

I don't really ever post on here, but have been on here reading everything for months. Next month is my last visit and then hopefully I will get a surgery date soon. It gives me hope to read all of your wonderful stories, even the ones that aren't so positive. Because in all the posts I have read, even the ones where they is some negativity, it is usually followed by: still the best decision I have ever made. And this has kept me going thru all of the appointments and all of the hoops you have to jump through to be approved. No matter what happens in the next months, I know it will be worth it. Thank you all for giving me hope.

I had my surgery on April 23, 2014. Greatest decision ever. I have lost around 130 pounds. I have been super happy with my success. It has been pretty steady the whole time. Recently it has gotten harder to lose but I am eating all the same things. I am not meet my Protein goals. I have done my entire thing on calories and just trying to stick to that amount of calories each day. I do a very similar program to Weight Watchers. I eat a ton of their food. Smart Ones oatmeal from Breakfast, Turkey and Chees for lunch or a TV dinner, and a meat, veggie, and carb for dinner. I always have a WW dessert everynight before bed. I have not had a proten shake since one m…

Now that I am just below bmi of 30..I am on track to lose those 13 pounds. I set my goal weight above the recommended 25 bmi by about 10 pounds. I vow to continue with: Drinking 6-8 glasses of h2o Recording my food in my fitness pal.. Exercising 5 days a week Measuring my foods Getting proper rest Stay away from people who do not have a positive attitude. Check with my stomach to determine if I am head hungry. Deal with my head hunger by determining the cause and taking action to resolve my head hunger. Stop eating when I feel comfortable with what I just ate. So happy with my sleeve.

The Big Change Hi, my name is Ryley; I am a 20-year-old junior that attends the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). I would like to share my Lap Band story with you guys, from the tears, heartache and happiness through it all. Obesity is a factor that involves my family. With a father and mother who came from overweight family, I knew I was bound from day one that I would have trouble fighting my weight. When I was born I wasn’t your average overweight baby, I was actual tiny. Weighing a whopping five pounds six ounces; you’d thought that I would have grown up to be considered normal size for the rest of my life. Boy would you…

May 9th was 5 months for me. I am down 70 pounds!!! Had a few ups n downs, a few emotional moments but overall I'm doing great!! I did my first 5K in March, my second in April, and just completed my first 10K on Saturday. I wanted to complete in under 1:30 but I did in 1:33. But I didn't give up! And I wasn't last- ok next to last - but I finished!!!! I am doing my first half marathon on September 28th and looking at a triathon in october maybe. I had/have moments where I wanted to give up, moments where I want Taco Bell. I struggle with my diet daily. Getting the right combination of protein and carbs for my exercise routine. But my dietician from where I had my sur…

I have been waiting for this day for so many years and prior to surgery, I didn't think I would ever see my weight starting with a "1" again. I have read over and over people on here writing that magical word "ONEDERLAND" and I couldn't wait to be the one to type it! Today is the day!!! I am a few days short of 5 months post op, and today on the scale read those magic numbers... 199.8!!! Who knew that could feel so good?! Just for anyone curious, I am 5'7 and started out at 277.6lbs. This is kind of a lame post, but since I chose not to tell people about my surgery, you guys are my PEOPLE! I've attached a few pics along the way . I still have another 30-40 lbs to go, b…

I am having surgery April 2nd and am 23 years old. My starting weight is 329 lbs and my goal weight is 151. Obviously I know this will be a long process and everyone is different but I am looking for helpful advice from those who have a significant amount fast, like 100 pounds in the first six months and numbers like that. What diet did you follow- 3 meals a day or 5 meals? When did you start working out and what did you do to start? Like I said I know everyone differs but would love some insight!

I haven't been on this site for a good long time. Life and family issues have kept me from doing much online. I have been moving right along with the band though! I am 3 months away from my 2 year Bandiversary. I am down 130 lbs and feeling awesome. HOWEVER. I feel just....stuck. Not food stuck. In a rut stuck. I am bored with foods. I am stuck in the 173-175 lb range and can't break through to start losing again. I am not drinking nearly enough Water. Exercise isn't happening. I have bat wings for arms and could probably fly if I fell off a building. Loose skin on my inner thighs and stomach area too. The strange thing is......I am happier than I have ever been with …

Hello friends! I'm curious to hear from anyone about 5'6" with an approximate starting weight of 260 that had a sleeve and how much you lost at 3, 6, 9 & 12 months. I know everyone is different. Just interested to see the range! My surgery is at the end of May. Getting excited

I've traded in my "clean plate club" membership for the "leave at least 4 bites -one for each dog" club. It makes it real easy to stop eating when I'm satisfied instead of continuing until I'm full.

Hi there, I have just celebrated my six month "bandaversary." How am I doing? Well, I'm thrilled! The weight loss has been great. I am 52 and I wasn't sure how fast it would be possible for me to lose. I am very satisfied with the results. In November I was a size 18 in my Lee long jeans. This morning I'm wearing size 12 Lee longs. I guess I'll be getting some 10's next time they are on sale. I find this mind-boggling, as though it must be some one else! My collarbones are coming back and I find myself noticing more definition all the time. This morning I wore exercise togs that I've had for a long time and the shirt is like a dress on me. It was kind of tight …

I had my 9 month follow up yesterday. My doctor genuinely seemed stoked about my progress. All the other staff in his office were also genuinely happy about my progress. 140 pounds in nine months has made him very happy with my progress and he told me that this weight loss was amazing for a gastric sleeve patient. I am so happy that I had this procedure and very thankful to Dr. Le for doing a great job on me and to his staff who have supported me.

Many of you know of my journey from very limited mobility, joint pain, and morbid obesity to a nearly normal life. Things are still new for me and I'm continuing to find amazement when I can do or participate in normal activities. I know alot of you run, do strenuous exercise, etc. I'm not there yet and I may never be. But I know that right now my version of a 5K is when I can step over the tub to get into the shower. When I can move comfortably in the small half bath in the kid's vacation home. When I can climb up onto the picnic table to take a picture with my son on Mother's Day. When I can get in and out of their Suburban. When I can simply walk and keep up in Walm…

Here's a few pics of my sleeve journey so far. The first collage is pre-op and 1 month post-op. The next is months 5-6-7. To date, I've lost 73 lbs, dropped from size 20-22 down to an easy size 10 . The weight loss has slowed down to about 1 lb a week, and I really need to get exercising more regularly to tone and tighten what I can. After 7 months I find that I need to keep diligent about my eating habits ; my sleeve feels good restriction but the brain wants "more". Got to work on that!

Good Tuesday, all. I simply must share. For the first time in (what, over 20 years?), I am in "Onederland"! Oh my goodness. My maximum weight ever was 271.2. VSG surgery was Dec. 4th; weight then, 257. I'm at 5 months, one week; I feel great physically/emotionally; 60 pounds gone as of today, and in Onederland. OMG. Yes, looking sexy; looking good, feeling confident, being much more sociable. (Noticing men noticing me more than usual.) Despite occasional yearning for a "full, regular meal," I'm loving my VSG. I hope the pic I uploaded shows; and for sure, I need to take more pics of me, my shape, transition. Now, the challenge: What do I eat to Celebrate? Maybe …

I am almost 3 weeks out and still trying to figure out this eating thing. I am currently on soft foods (baked fish, PB, yogurt, cottage cheese, banana, etc) but I am not sure if I really know how to eat all this different things. I try and have something every 2 hrs. with protein drinks in-between. I am getting my 70+gms of protein a day in addition to my 64oz of water… Does anyone else out there have a schedule to how and what to eat? Will I ever be able to have more than 3-4 oz at a time? I can't imagine ever getting to have a plate a food (even it small in portion) with my family. No regrets, but just trying to figure it out.

I am so excited its been only two in a half months and I lost 61lbs. I still Have a long way to go but its exciting to see how great this works. So happy to be out of the three hundred mark on the scale.

Hello all I'm 5' 7" HW 240 SW 230 CW 176 GW 150 Was size 18. now size 12, I have a pair of 10s that I can squeeze on. I like to wear these around the house and tell my kids that the can borrow my pants if they want. They roll their eyes. The weight, so far, has not "fallen off" as I see it does for some others. I did not go from a size 18 to a size 2 I am splendidly average, and for that, I'm jazzed! I have a ways to go, I will arrive.

Highest weight: 245 lbs Surgery weight: 240 lbs Goal weight: 140 lbs Current weight: 129 lbs Revised goal (from surgeon): 115 lbs by May next year Height: 4' 11" Age: 26 At 11 months post op, I've adapted well to my new "normal" life. I LOVE to workout: running, weights, yoga, workout classes. I've completely given up rice, bread, potatoes, and Pasta. I don't eat fried foods or candy. Basically, I eat real food- Protein, veggies, fruit, nuts, yogurt, cheese. I never feel deprived or left out- it's all about the mindset. And I'm starting to love shopping instead of crying and dreading. Here are my pics I also added other photos & photos of food I eat (ho…

Browsing through some pictures at work a short time ago, I came across one of myself taken during a lunch party of sorts. It's quite possibly the worst picture of me ever taken, and I was mortified to see it! (and tempted to remove it from the company image servers, but I digress). It was taken sometime last year in late spring or early summer. I have no idea what my weight was. Fast forward to a picture taken this past Wednesday when I played hooky to go cod fishing. Really? Really? I didn't think I've changed that much because I still have quite a ways to go, but... really? It blows my mind. Be well…

Most of you all probably know me, but I need some encouragement! I've lost 63 pounds but I'm stuck. I need motivation to work out and to really watch what I eat! I haven't really gained any weight it's just I'm unmotivated and need that spark I had in the beginning. I just feel blah and I've been over stressed personally & any encouragement would be helpful! Thanks

I am so technically illiterate, I can't get the pics on this post the right way up. But if you visit my gallery on my profile, have put up some "before" pics. Never seen before outwith my family. I am actually quite shocked to see myself... had forgotten just how big I was. But I am not there any more :-))))) Life is soooooo good... if you are struggling, I hope it shows that everything and anything is possible...

I just got an interesting phone call, my Bariatric dr office is doing a infomercial about surgery and my dr recommend me to the company that is doing it since I had a great recovery and been pretty successful so far on this journey. Unfortunately I declined since I'm been pretty quite about my surgery and haven't really told anyone outside of my wife. It was motivating to get a call like that though.
