Surgery date was April 28, 2015!

Recommended Posts

I am new to this forum and this is my first post! I had sleeve surgery on April 28, 2015 by Kaiser Permanente in Fremont, CA, so it's been 3 weeks and 4 days today. I was given a weight loss goal of 20 pounds on January 15th in order to receive a surgery date. On that date I weighed 247. I got down to 225 the day of my surgery and today weigh 208 - a loss of 17 pounds since the day of my surgery. I was hoping to have been down by 20 pounds at this 3 week mark, however am still thrilled with a 17 pound loss! My only complaints thus far have been that I have suffered from Constipation and have swollen ankles and cold feet. Anyone else experiencing any or all of these symptoms?

So happy to be here! Attached is a picture of my daughter and I (I am in green) taken two weeks post surgery. post-254637-0-06814700-1432410130_thumb.jpg

Hello there, I was just sleeved on Tuesday, and left the hospital with swollen ankles/legs, they said to give it time, also been very cold. I'm still on the Clear Liquids so just waiting for the next few weeks. Good luck to you.

I am being "sleeved" by Dr. Chu at Fremont Kaiser on Tuesday, July 28. I was originally with Dr. Le in South San Francisco, but that did NOT work out. I was able to transfer to Fremont and I could not be HAPPIER. I've lost 71 lbs - on my own since March 2014. Dr. Chu has been so supportive. I am so excited!

How was your overall hospital stay?

May I ask what went wrong with Dr. Le? My normal doctor is on leave at the time and I am honestly not a fan AT ALL!!!! I also have been reading that many others have had issues with his "attitude" per say... TIA

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
