Don't Heat your Whey-based Protein Powder!

Don't heat your whey-based protein powder! I got the idea this afternoon to make a protein-based hot chocolate of sorts. Big mistake! The protein turned into an extremely unappetizing rubber mass floating on top of the water. Yuck!!! Won't be doing that again...:)

Hey but what you can do is heat the water let it cool alittle then mix it in. The powder cant be deated though. Ive made hot choc protein drinks this way!

I mix the protein powder in with the cold milk, put in the blender so there are no clumps and then heat the milk. I've never had a problem with the powder separating that way. It does tend to get pretty thick as it cools, so i use a bit less powder to milk. But after a fill, when my everything is so inflamed and swollen I often don't do well with cold drinks. This is sometimes the only way I have to get protein during those first days after.
