Found a delicious, convenient, high protein, low fat food...it's affordable too!

I just had to share an AMAZING food find that I think other bandsters would LOVE!!

This weekend we were at Super Wal-Mart in the Deli section and saw a case of prepared meats from Hormel. There was pork, beef tips, roast, chicken & turkey. I chose the chicken in gravy. The food is fresh, not frozen. There are 3 breasts in each package. Including gravy, each serving is only 120 calories and 20+ grams of protein!!!

It takes less than a minute to cook, and...get ready for this....it is SUPER INCREDIBLY MOIST and DELICIOUS!!! I went back and bought every last package of chicken breast they had!!! The price was only $4.98!

I've never had a problem eating chicken, but for those that have, this is for you!! It is BY FAR the MOST TENDER and delicious chicken breast I've ever had! The gravy is delicious and could help those who have had problems getting chicken down without stuck episodes.

I hope this helps someone, I'm THRILLED I've found something so quick, easy and Bandster friendly...just had to share!

My grocery store has whole rotissiere chickens for $4.99. I buy one every week and use it in various ways (all with the skin removed). One of the ways is to chop and mix the chicken with fat free gravy - so it's probably similar to what you're eating. Yes, it is good - and moist. And low in fat. Enjoy!!

I bought one before and it was great. Thanks for the reminder.

Thank you, thank you! I'm off to Walmart in the morning.

You're welcome!!

As an update, I've eaten one chicken breast about every 3 hours (so easy to do now) and I'm down nearly 5lbs in the last 2 weeks! I am NOT at ALL tired of the chicken, it truly is delicious! I bought 8 packages, and am off this weekend to find more (the date on mine is Jan 10 2010) so I need to stockpile!

Enjoy!

So Jealous, the nearest Wal-Mart is 1/2 hour away and no super-wal-mart anywhere close!

Gonna have to check this out. I have to be careful with chicken. Rotisserie chicken gets stuck for me yet grilled chicken goes down great. Go figure!

Thank you for sharing this info, I went looking for it and found it!! We ate the beef straganoff one the other night, LOVED IT! So easy and quick. Only thing is the sodium, may not want to do that one often :blushing:

I will have to try it. I got stuck with a bite of chicken the other day. It was my first really bad episode of getting stuck. That is a really good reminder of what not to try to chow to quickly on!

Thanks, I'll have to give these a try. Their website nutrition facts aren't really good (under serving size it says 'varies'), but given the calories/protein you gave the chicken has 1070 mg of sodium/sv....yikes!!! But some of the other ones are half that.

If you really like the Hormel foods from Walmart, call the 1-800-Walmart number and let them know to keep stocking it. They are bad about carrying things for awhile and then not carrying them.
