Iron

Has anyone else had an issue with low iron? My primary will not write my approval until my hematologist clears me, but they can not get my iron too much above 7.5. I've completed everything else and this is holding me up.

Ive always had low iron. They put me on a iron supplement after my blood work came back. Have they put you on any??

A friend of mine always had trouble with her iron...found out that she needed to go on a gluten free diet and it really helped.

Hi all and thanks for the suggestions. I am currently on intravenous iron for the 2nd time. I started at 6.6, but it only went up to 7.6 and I have completed this cycle. I have thalassemia and my iron isn't going to go to a normal range (11 - 14). Oral iron is not absorbed in my system. This is so disheartening.
