  1. I would say a 3. It was really not bad at all!
  2. Christmas was really hard for me and I gained weight! Got back on the wagon and doing good...but slow. I only have 1.5cc in my band...and it seems fine. I did start going to the gym and it does help....the older you are the harder for the pounds to drop off! Start fresh tomorrow like you were just banded! Then you will be able to get back in the routine. Good luck!
  3. My insurance did not cover either...however, they did pay for part of the anesthesia and the surgicenter. But not the actual surgery...so make sure they send in the bills anyway!
  4. I had my first on Weds and he numbed it...so after the first little needle...all you felt was a little pressure. No issues at all. In fact, I do feel restriction.....more today then the others....not hungry at all. Good luck and don't worry!
  5. Hey! I had my first fill today too! Numbed it up and gave me a little saline....he did not tell me the exact amount but somewhere between 1-2cc. But I can feel it. I am surprised too...I can tell when I drink Water..no more gulps! No restriction on food today....but I am eating light anyway. Good luck with the fill!
  6. I can eat and drink anything too! I try hard not too! I get my first fill tomorrow and I am anxious to see if it helps. I am not straving...but when I start to eat...I feel I eat more then I should. I am happy overall with the band and the weightloss...I just need to move my rear and start to exercise! Have a good evening!
  7. My doctor told me use moderation...enjoy it as this is a livestyle change not a diet.
  8. How much did you take? Thanks! PS>>You look great!
  9. Glad you are dong well! I am 4 weeks out and have my shake every morning for breakfast. Do a 1.5 scoop and get 36grms in at once plus 8 from the skim milk....and I really like my shake! Not sweet at all. I like the greek yogurt too....14 grms! It will get easier each day! Take care
  10. Mine is upper left towards the middle and I can feel it. It is very near the surface.
  11. Thank you! I went out and purchased them today! They are really yummy and I do so need the fiber! I am doing great except in that area! Colace and dulcolax are being my friends!:scared2: Hope everyone is doing great!
  12. You sound like you are doing great! I am about the same with no pre op diet.(except I was losing on my own by cutting back.and stopping my diet coke..but I was banded on the 13th. I really try not to eat too much...but nothing much really bothers me! I chew too...to an oatmeal consistency...too much chewing can cause a paste that blocks! You just can't win! No fill until December:unsure: I was hoping sooner...but I think I can hang in there! Keep up the great work....
  13. Gee..I am sorry you had such a bad experience. I do understand about some people being so insensitive to overweight folks...it is really sad. But good luck with your weightloss! Think positive!
  14. Dymatize Elite® whey Protein Isolate Cafe Mocha I actually look forward to them! I make it with skim milk..do 1 1/2 scoops and get 36grms from the powder and 8 from the milk to start off my day! Not sweet at all. Very low in sugar and only 117 calories per scoop. Good Luck!
  15. I did the same thing...did not tell many people at all during the "planning" stages....but a week before and after...who cares! I tell anyone on a need to know basis....if we are going out for dinner...I think my companions should know so they don't think something is wrong because I am eating odd...they would figure it out anyway. I could give a toot what others think...it is your body...and I could care less who knows now. In someway..you may be opening the door to discussion for someone else who may need a little help too. Good Luck!
  16. I was banded the same day as you...so it must be the day! I too skipped right over the mushies and went to regular food. Only my doctor knew and said it was ok as long as I made good choices and chewed the food. I am doing fine and most foods agree with me. I also had salad and it went right down with no issues. I am careful what I eat and also with the portion size. I don't feel deprived at all. He is even allowing me a little wine. Overall, I feel great. I sleep better then I did in years and I feel like have more energy too. Now to get on a good exercise schedule! Good luck!
  17. If you have a Trader Joe's near you...try the tomato and red pepper soup (not spicy-sweet) and a big spoonful of low fat ricotta cheese in it....yummy!
  18. Hi!..I was just banded a week ago and was wondering if the experienced bandsters wore/wear body shapers during their weight loss period? Is it good to have support so you are not as flabby after a significant loss? I guess would it help? Thanks!

  20. KCG! Thanks! But you day is soon! I had no preop diet ...but I really was carefull not to gain any weight. I am really feeling good! So folks out there...don't be nervous...it is really not painful or horrible....very doable occassional gas pains. In fact, I only took one pain pill since my surgery. Good luck everyone!
  21. Dymatize Elite Whey Protein Cafe Mocha...It is really goos especially when you make it with skim milk. 117 calories for one scoop with 24grms of protein-0 sugar! I do not like sweet Protein drinks...so this really works well for me. I tried a bunch...like this the best. I got this at Vistacost...$36.00 for 5 lbs. plus shipping. Take care and good luck!
  22. Good luck everyone! Mine was on the 13th and feeling good! Enjoy the weekend!
  23. Hi! I was banded the same day as you! It gets better each day! I got one protein drink in yesterday and today I decided to do 1.5 scoops and skim milk...if I can't get any more in today..that is fine. The protein powder I decided on it really pretty good...so taste is not an issue. Keep plugging along...you will do great!

Hi Leslie...Congratulations! You are all done! I had mine done the day before yours..13th. I can tell you that tomorrow you will probably feel pretty good. Big difference for me today. I am struggling getting all the protein and water in...but little by little it should be ok. Only took 1 pain pill the night of the surgery.. Sounds like you are doing great!
  25. How are all the new bandsters doing. Had mine on the 13th and doing really well. Only took one percocet on the 13th and that was it. Very little gas pain. Did not do well drinking yesterday...but today is better...got my first shake down already. So for those that are waiting...no worries..you will do fine! I will be thinking of you!
