Has this happened to anyone......

When I went for my sugery no one knew I was getting this except for my husband and boss. Since the surgery I had decided to tell just a few select people. My oldest son, 2 of my 3 step daughters, another co-worker, and a close friend. So now a total of 7 people know I have had the lap band surgery.

I have since lost 54 pounds. Not near my goal but still what I think to be a significant amount of weight. I don't expect people to compliment me every waking hour, but not one person except my husband has even mentioned that they notice any weight loss. No I didn't do this for anyone but myself, but it just seems that now that I have, people are afraid to say anything or just don't want to.

I agree that sometimes it is better for others not to know. I am constantly being asked so whats your total loss now, how much have you lost this week, you must work out all the time. It honestly gets really invasive especially when you tell someone I havent lost anything since the last time you asked and they go........no really? I think the worst part is when I have to eat around people, EVERYONE says oh you can eat that? Does your stomach fit that much food(even when its only 3/4 a cup). I just want to say SHUT UP and let me eat my little bit of food in peace hahah!

No one but my boyfriend knows I have the lap-band. I was banded on 7/21/09 and have lost about 25 pounds. No one has noticed. But I have and I feel better.

And sometimes, I think people just aren't that observant. My cousin was telling me that she ran into a lady the other day that she hadn't seen for a while and told the lady that she looked nice, and did she get a new hat? And the lady told her 'no' she had lost 100 pounds! Can you believe it, that lady was probably so mad! My cousin really didn't notice a 100 pound weight loss.
