Well, if I was ging to blow it, I could see me doing it eating roasted marshmallows. Love those things. But you know what? It's done and over with and you will be fine. Learn from this mistake.

Yep, I have learned that if I am gonna squander calories, use them WELL....like a blizzard.

PS, Plain, I miss you when you aren't here too. :)

Well we are headed to Phoenix later this week to look at a couple of trucks, then turn around, and drive to TX on Sat. Think my butt will make it? I have no padding there dammit! LOL

We went and shopped here, and the cost is just so different! The laws regarding repo is different, so the lots charge more, so in response individuals do as well.

We do not want new, we want used, and would prefer to go 2 WD. Found a couple of F150's we are interested in , both loaded, so comfortable for travelling.

I over ate too. Not anything bad, in fact Rick wanted Breakfast for dinner---so it was ham and eggs, but it was too much for me not having eaten in a couple of days....it is bouncing like I have a trampoline in there. ick!

Angela, I know where you are at with your son, and appreciating the slow approach. My DD, was very methodical in her life, she has a very linear approach to things still to this day. She sets a path for herself and usually follows it. That was no different. She and Jason dated for 2 years. She come to me wanting birth control. I flipped! She insisted she was not planning to do anything, but wanted to regulate her cycle, blah, blah, blah. So we went to the Dr. who put her on low dose BC, and warned her she would want to change her when she chose to be sexually active. Another year goes by and she comes to me again, and says she and Jason went to Family Planning together to see about having her BC changed! And since he had been in an accident as a child requiring a blood transfusion they suggested a blood test for HIV. But they needed a parents signature, and she wanted me to hear from her what they did, not one of Jasons parents!

I give them the "This is my house, not a motel" speech, but was so torn, I was glad she took me at my word to 'come to me' but YIKES!!! That's my baby!!! LOL

She married Jason, they went away with the Army, she graduated college, got her nursing degree, had a baby (Kinsey) and have since divorced. I think of them all the only thing she didn't plan was the divorce!!! Well I doubt she planned on his being with other women!!!

I bought this stupid stuffed duck dog toy today---this dog is making me crazy with it! It quacks/squeeks. She LOVES it. Maybe too much so!

Well, I have a dilemma. Just got off the phone with my Mom, who tells me just now, she is having surgery on her para-thyroid on the 17th. Wonderful. We were to be gone the week of the 15th- 21-22. They were back up care for Kinsey. So now not only do I need to be here for Moms surgery, but to take care of Kinsey. I agreed to do it, Manda's job is of utmost importance, she is sole support of the 2 of them.

I guess Rick will go to TX alone. I won't get to see my grandsons.

There went my good mood.

I want my Mom to get better, and I hope this does it, I just wish the timing were different. I was really looking forward to watching them open the Christmas gifts I bought today.

Gonna go pout now......

Kat-I am so sorry about the trip! Any chance your mom can reschedule or is it totally out of the question?

Good morning everyone. Have a great day :)

I know y'all are probably sick of me, but I had some amazingly fabulous news just now I wanted to share.

You know I worked for years on the Victim Impact Panel, working to stiffen our domestic violence laws in NM. One of our issues, and one you all know I have been stressing is victim notification.

Well our 11th judicial district FINALLY passed it!

We now have what is known as VINE. Victim information and Notification Everyday.

Anyone can register to be notified about any offender. When they are transferred among facilities, when they have bail hearings, or bond assessments, if they post bail, escape, or are released. The information goes out within 15 minutes. You can register up to 5 each of phone numbers and emails addresses to get the info.

I have been invited to be on a panel----I go to training tomorrow night. Which could have been problematic....it is Rick's and my anniversary.

I called him, and he said by all means GO---make it an anniversary present to us, to ease our minds (and our hearts, imo). He has no idea how much more that made me love him, for him to understand this.

OMG it happened! Jimmy is not going to get out without me knowing. I can't quit crying! It happened! We did it! YAY!!!!!!

Ok, you can go back to your day now.....promise to only bother you a few more times today!

Kat, I'm so sorry that things have changed and that you won't be able to see the boys. I know you were so looking forward to it. Hopefully a new solution will come up and you will be able to go.

Home from work and trying to decide what I want to get done around the house today. Then I have to go back to work this afternoon. I'm thinking the dining room is going to get a good cleaning.

Awww...that sucks about the trip, but YAY on the victim's infomation and notification everyday!!! How cool is that?!?! I am soooo happy for you!

Nothing much going on here today...just work. Suzie, I wish I had your energy (and you are still in a boot, right?)!

Zachary decided to go on a run last night and we all ended up joining him. Even the dog! I ran and walked because the little squirt kept trying to get under my legs, (the dog), lol. I was so excited...excited that we did it together!! I am hoping we go again tonight.

Have a good one!

Angela

Kat..that's so exciting!!!! I'm so happy for you!!!

I have an update on the Lee situation. I went by my mom's house to get my Christmas decorations for my store. Lee's mom, Annette, told me that when Lee went to my store the other morning (the whole Jason/Lee incident), he was "just doing his job because he has been told to spy on you and Jason". Well, I didn't believe that to be true. So I called my mom and she said "That is 100% not true. If I wanted to know, I would have came up there myself". Plus, Friday, Lee called my step-dad and said "I guess I f-ed up." and my step-dad told him that he had no business sticking his nose into anything. Well, Lee also told my mom and step-dad that the woman who lives above my store was complaining to him. That's untrue too!! So my step-dad is having a talk with him, and telling him that he just needs to stay away from Spring Creek (that's the shopping center that my mom has, and that my store is in). My mom keeps reassuring me that everything is going to be fine at Thanksgiving. I think she finally understands that I really am worried about it.

Not too much going on here. The satellite box in our downstairs living room has went out. So we've been having to go upstairs to our upstairs living room to watch tv. I'm thinking about going to play our Kinect. I'll check in later!!

Plain, I miss you too!

Kat, so sorry about the boys, your mom and everything. Great news on VINE and being asked to be on the panel!!

Ashley, Lee needs to get a new hobby. I hate to say it but you might need to speak with him in person, in public, w/witnesses. He needs to STOP and I'm afraid YOU need to be the one to tell him. I don't think he is dangerous but he is taking on being the protector and he is officially interfering in your marriage.

Angela, what a great evening! DD wanted to take a walk the other day but it was starting to rain. And my ankle is giving me fits so don't know that we would have gotten very far. I hope you DO get to go again tonight.

Cindy, glad your evaluation went well. I hate stuff like that but understand the need for it. I just don't like the attention it brings!

We were going to go woodcutting today but it's too wet. We'll have to wait til next Tuesday.

My right ear woke me up at 3AM. Took a decongestant and put some drops in it, stuck a cotton ball in it and went back to bed. Dumb thing. It's always giving me fits. Don't think it's infected as that I can see coming so who knows what's going on with it now. If need be, I'll go see the doc but I'll give it some time first. Still plugged up but it's not as bad as it was this AM.

Well, I need to go finish up the kitchen and get something to eat. Have a great day!

Kat, that is very exciting news. I know this has been a very important issue you have dealt with. Too bad it took them so long to pass it.

Ok, I lied. I didn't clean the dining room.Hubby and I went outside and worked. We got the pile of dead branches all cut up and stacked. We trimmed trees and got that all cut and stacked. Then I mowed again. I mowed over where the pile had been and then I went around the perimeter and mulched some more leaves. It took us about an hour and a half.

Had lunch and now getting ready to go back into work.

I'm home and dogged tired. Hope I sleep well tonight.

Tracy, I need to tell you Thank You for being a roll model. You have kept me straight now for a few days. It's hard but I am finding strength thru you postings. Just want you to know that someone really appreciates you. Actually not one but many here do.

I'm so ready for a shower. It will still be about 2 more weeks before I hopefully get one. Someone needs to invent a showerable cast.

You have mine Tracy, or do you need it again?

Suzie, it really isn't too hard to shower with a leg cast. I used a lawn chair in the shower, so I was not standing on it, because it could be slick. Put a trash bag over the cast, and tuck it in around the top. Then use the Press and Seal type of like waxed paper---wrap a ring or 2---even Saran Wrap pulled tight works well. Sit down, and prop your foot up if possible to avoid Water running straight down it----you get to shower, Shampoo, shave the other leg!!! I was in my cast from just under the knee to the edge of my toes, for 9 weeks----believe me, you learn how to shower!!! Another option, probably not as available to you is a seriously hilarious one!!!!! Go to the Feed store and ask for disposable gloves, for large animal testing. They will be big enough to slide over your cast, they are really tough. They do have fingers, but they can just flop around!!! The gloves are made to go past the elbow, for pregnancy testing and embryo transfer!!! They work REALLY well, less bulk than trash bags! Less likely to leak too!!! But not everyone has those around I guess!!! I really didn't either, but I DID go buy them! And FYI----I have NEVER used them for what they are for! LOL Our cows get confirmed by giving birth! And we have never had an animal so pricey we did any transfers! LOL

Got all the boys Christmas wrapped tonight. Sure doesn't feel like Christmas is around the corner.

Well, my neck and shoulder are still killing me-----not sure why. I hate taking anything, and now it is too late, it would reflux on me. Oh well, I am tired, it will relax I hope.

Will check in in the morning. Manda never even saw her boss today so no idea about what is happening still.

Evening everyone,

Kat, we'll never get sick of you, and what fantastic news about VINE!

Suzie, you're something else! You didn't clean the dining room, but you did all that work outside. And with that cast, too!

Hey, Angela. Just like you, nothing's really happening here, just work, and now I'm really tired, don't know why.

Michelle, what a pain. I hate ear infections. Hope it clears up and you don't have to go to the doctor.

Jenn, hope you get some rest!

Cindy, I'm glad everything went well. I think I'd be nervous if I was in your place.

Yes, Tracy, keep posting! I lost a pound. Not much, but just maybe it's the start of something.

Hi to everyone else I missed.

I'm going to bed soon. Night.

Deb

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
