A Month Out and Never Felt Restriction of Any Kind

Anyone else feel like they did pre-band ? I've had one fill and still nothing.

I eat healthy (but I can eat everything).

Can I really hurt the band when I have no restriction yet ?

Thanks ! :frown:

Most people don't feel any restriction with one fill. do you know how much was put in your band? I didn't start to get restriction until the 3-4th fill...my MD said to eat until you are full, you can't hurt the pouch at this point (as long as you are following his menu guidelines). There's no way to stretch it because it is basically emptying right through the band into the stomach as soon as you eat. With no restriction to "hold" the food in, it wouldn't be possible to stretch the pouch--unless you are consistently overeating. As everyone will say, this is "bandster hell"--it's the time from surgery where you can still eat as you used to, and until you get restriction, you can't expect to lose weight--if you do, it's an added bonus!

You likely won't feel restriction until later. I just had my second fill yesterday, and until then, I could eat anything and everything if I wasn't careful. Focus right now on eating what your doctor says and on eating smaller portions. If you need something to tide you over, choose healthy options: a glass of skim milk, a piece of string cheese, a low carb protein bar, etc. You may not lose weight as fast as you prefer, but you will be changing your habits so that when you feel restriction, you'll be ahead of the game.

I had to get a lot of fills to really start feeling it. I always felt "some" after a fill. Around the 6th one I was sure I was close...Had the 10th last month and I finally feel consistent restriction! Only took 16 months!
