Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor Surgery date Oct 8, Just need someone to talk to

I know I am ready to do this. I just would really appreciate someone to ask questions & share the feelings I have about this huge event in my life. My date is October 8. A day before my birthday. I don't even have the words to describe this amazing gift. I have been overweight since i was 10 years old. Up & down, & up & down. As an adult the smallest size I ever wore (which was so brief--I think I blinked and it was over) was a 14. It has been an extremely rough road, but here I am. It's incredible the emotion you feel as you face the reality of your situation. Looking forward to friendship on here with those who can relate.

Sincerely.

I had the choice of Medifast, carnation instant Breakfast drinks or Slimfast Low Carbs for my drinks. I chose Slimfast. I drink 3 of those a day and then get 5-7 oz of Protein (depending on the type) and 3 servings (1/2 cup each except for lettuce) of veggies. They said I could also have sliced cucumbers or sugar-free popcicles or Jello.

It's amazing how each doctor differs in the diet they give out. I had some of my protein for lunch so I'm feeling much better. The hard part is remembering that I can't have things. I ate so often out of habit that I would pop a piece of candy without thinking about it. At least I'm at work and have no food temptation, i know it must be hard to be at home with Snacks.

Also, feel free to email me.

Haha. Just sent you an email. I have done great so far. Breakfast-chocolate Protein shake with banana/ice/vanilla soy/ff skim

Lunch: same as above but with a little cherry extract and a pinch of sf choc syrup

I need a snack now though. I am getting hungry, lol. Maybe some yogurt

Glad we have each other to talk to : )
