Good Foggy Morning :)

Beanie, can't you call the insurance company and just threaten them that they will hear from your lawyer. Tell them the date is set and if they don't give you that approval # your lawyer will get in touch with them. Tell them this is screwing up your time with your employer as well. Talk to the manager's manager. Not the first person you talk to. I really don't want to see you selling cupcakes LOLOL !! :) If there's another house to rebuild, I'm sorry chicklet but you'll be on your own. I'm to old and tired to ever do that again lol.

Betty, thanks :) You know, I don't even know how long I'm suposed to be on liquids and what I should buy. Guess I better start looking this stuff up and get prepared, 3 weeks goes fast....actually 20 days LORDY LORDY LORDY !!!! Did I mention how scared I am LOLOL !!!!

Nothing much happening today, SOSDD. Work is pretty much a bore but its a paycheck so I shouldn't complain.

Whats everyone doing today ?

Well, I could sell my body - but I don't think I would make as much money...

The first attorney I was talking to - Steve Kalman at BandedLawyer.com - says my appeal is too complicated and I need to take it to a different guy who specializes in appeals... Gary Viscio gviscio1@yahoo.com

I have e-mailed him and we will see if 1) he thinks he can help & 2) I can afford to pay him to help.

My mom was supposed to have a knee reconstruction yesterday - but she had to re-schedule for next week because they got the wrong knee parts.

That's all the news for me, today.

Hi all! Just stopping by to read the chat! Love the house, NJ Chick!!!! And, your daughter is adorable...cute cheeks! Our kids look like sisters...I think I have a picture of DD on the picture thread somewhere?!

Our neighborhood is festive, too...but we are behind this year...we can't keep our parents out of hospitals!

We are promised a breath of cool air here in Texas maybe Thursday...it's still summer here! I would love to live in a cooler climate!

We are planning to go to the State Fair of Texas this Saturday...it should be cheaper for us this year since I won't be eating my way through the booths! My strategy is to take bites off of DD and DH's goody stuff! They are offering fried Peanut Butter and jelly sandwiches this year. Is that gross or what?

Later, Cindy

Hi everyone

What a busy week! Girls Scouts started, my in laws were over (ahhh, what a little tequila in the form of a margurita will help you get through) gymnastics for Becca tonight, gymnastics for Sarah tomorrow, Dr appointment on Thursday, road clean up Saturday with Girl Scouts and Storybook Land on Sunday. You would think I would be skinny as a rail with all of this running around.

Eileen ~ I haven't seen anything posted but, have you heard from your insurance yet?

Hi to everyone else!!

Have a great week!

Good Foggy Morning AGAIN :-)

Whats with this fog lately, ick. Makes it hard to have a good hair day :)

Cindy, so sorry to hear about your parents, hopefully they will be out soon. The fair sounds cool, and so do the fried pnutbutter & jelly sandwiches mmmmmmm. I'd try just about anything and especially fried. I chuckled when you said it would be cheaper this year LOLOL, that would be me too. The smells drive you nuts going to those places.

Lisa, with all the running I do you'd think I'd be a rail too. Funny how I can run and stuff my face at the same time... multitasking LOLOL !!!! Nope haven't heard from the insurance company. Guess they want us to have no fingernails left the day b/4 surgery. I can't blame it 100% on the insurance company b/c the office staff at my doctors office seem to be lacking in speed and consideration. They were not swift in sending in my information until I started screaming. For some reason they decided to keep it for a few weeks....UHHHH!!! I'm not very happy with them at the moment. Hopefully they will call and make me forget about smacking them. When I spoke to the office on Monday I expressed how I understand they are busy but that they had to understand how patience feel and how nervous this makes us. Not good for the old blood pressure ya know. Thanks for asking. Good luck on your testing on the 18th.

My cold is getting better :) I'm down to 50 coughs a day instead of 200 LOLOL !!!

How is everyone this fine HUMP day ?

I can't tell you what your doctor will say, each has their own set of rules. You might want to call and ask so you know what to buy. I will tell you to buy half of what you think you will need. I bought way too much!

It's going to be hot again today, but a cold front is moving in tonight so tomorrow will be 70.

So y'all, where in Texas are you? I am in Grand Prairie. Maybe we could all meet up somewhere.

Have a good one!

Good Morning, All...

It's just another Glorious Texas Day here in Addison, where I work. The sun is shining and the sky is blue and a little smoggy.

They always have some new disgusting deep fried thing at the fair. Last year I think it was candy bars on a stick that were battered and fried. Like candy wasn't bad enough - they had to deep fry it, just to be SURE it was deadly.

I have to say that PB&J might not be too bad deep fried. I really love that melty Peanut Butter on toast thing - so maybe it would be tasty. But again - like Fat & Sugar on two slices of Starch wasn't enough...

Anyway, I have to follow up with some folks today. I think I am going to try my first appeal using the Inamed free service. They have some "Hotline" number with medical forms for your doc to complete - then they help you write the letter & document the research for the #^&*! insurance company. Of course, the folks at Lap Band Solutions were not aware of this... which is moderatly terrifying. You would think that this would be one of their solutions - but in fairness, they did just have a staffing change.

So, now I have to teach the folks at LBS how to "help me" with getting my insurance approval. Geesh! Oh well. I figure I am just leaving a trail of breadcrumbs for the next poor fat chick who comes along. **sigh**

Lets see - on the agenda for today: get new inspection sticker for my car. Yep, today is the last day of the grace period... Can you say procrastinate? Sure you can.

Other than that, it's just continue the laundry mission in preparation for my trip to Burbank. What's up with everybody else?

Lisa - glad you got thru the In-Laws with only minor margarita therapy. I was fortunate - I had an "unconventional" MIL. The first time I met her I was wearing nothing but a sheet in her living room. She didn't even bat an eyelash - and offered to cook me Breakfast. Gotta love that Southern Hospitality.

Eileen - My mom is having her knee reconstructed using cadaver parts - so apparently, now we are just like cars - with parts that can be replaced. She tore a ligament or a tendon (sorry, I can't remember which) and it healed badly, pulling the knee cap so far off to one side that the docs wondered how the heck she could walk at all. They couldn't fix it, so they opted to replace it.

The family is joking about Frankenstein... we are calling it her "AbbyNormal" knee surgery. When they got her into the surgery, they realized they had the wrong part and had to postpone. That's ok, though. Mom got to experience the joys of morphine. She said if it wasn't for the nausea the next day, she would become an addict. Woo Hoo!

Hi Cindy! Hi Betty! Maybe we can do lunch or some other non-food type gathering. :]

Everybody have a great day!

Betty, thanks for the advice on not buying to much, but I think that its something that is just in my genes. No matter what I go to the store for or how much, I ALWAYS come home with to much. Just like when I cook. There's 3 of us at home and I cook like there's 33. I'm not from Texas, but isn't this cool that the three of you would meet posting in a jersey thread LOLOL !!!

I believe the first two weeks was Clear Liquids. I really need to put together a list.

juice ? is that considered clear (well apple right?). I'm gonna research this rather than pick at you all.

You know what would be nice is if the FAQ section had suggestion lists of what to get at each phase.... let me go look, maybe it does. If not I'll start one here.

Beanie, hope your mom is up and at it soon. When is her spare part coming in. Good thing your mom had her spare donut when she blew out her tire LOLOL !!! Poor thing.

I'm glad your fighting the insuance company. I suspect they will back down as soon as they realize your not giving up. Ohh.. whats wrong with a candybar on a stick deep fried?????? LOLOL I'd love to try one of them, a snickers bar would do nicely :)

I guess I better get to work.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz !!!!

I LOVE this thread! NJ Chick is the cutest thing around here!

I have my own sliding glass door to a patio in my office. Today I wore a long sleeve sweater, then opened my door to hear the pinecones clunking when the wind blows. Then my puter crashed, so I had to lock down and I'm now in the back of the building in a dark, lonely corner. I'm riding my motorcycle to work the rest of the week because bundling up in my leather jacket makes me feel like I rule the world. It's beautiful here.

Hi everyone! Thanks for the welcome...and for the Texas gals, an impromtu support meeting would be great! Maybe we can organize one on the Texas board, or by PM? I have a run-around evening planned...my father picks my daughter up from school, so I drive from here (Carrollton) to Denton, have dinner with dad 7 daughter, hang out a while, then off to church for her choir chimes and choir rehearsal...that is not over until 8:15, then back in the car to head home (Sanger). Tomorrow, I may have a moment to breathe, since DH is taking DD down to Baylor Hospital to visit his father (my FIL), who just had hip replacement surgery. OOOOOOHHHHHHH....Dh brought home a ziploc containing all the hardward that was previously installed when they repaired his broken hip....OUCH! No wonder he was in pain.

ReneBean, I am proud of you for following up on your quest...please keep telling us about your progress! It's great that you are taking control of the situation. Hang in there!

Chick, it's always fun hearing from you!

ILuvHarleys...wow! I didn't even realize we were posting in a NJ thread! Oops! I just click on New Posts, and start reading...so thanks to you Jersey chicks for letting us crash your party! Grand Prairie has the horse races, and the best live venue around (the little theatre near the races). Looks like ReneBean is in the middle.

Have a good day, to all!

Cindy

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

      3. Doughgurl

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
