Hi Dreamingthin! I had my surgery on the 13th! I showered for the first time today. My surgeon gave me permission to shower the next day, but I waiting till today. How are you doing? What kind of diet does your doctor have you on? I am on liquids but I think I need to find some protein!!! I feel great and am doing good so far!

Kim (NJ)

Banded August 13th

Hi Kim. I was banded 8/12 and am on a liquid diet as well. My diet allows me to start a proten supplement the fourth day. I have the Isopure vanilla powder that I blend into 8 oz of milk in the morning (I started the Protein early bcs I was getting hungry). I sip on that for a few hours and then move to Water before my "lunch" of broth, Jello, and juice.

Good luck!

Jen

Hi, my name is Leah. I was just banded August 12th. I am also on Clear Liquids as of right now. I am going to be going on full liquids starting tomorrow. I am hungry, but it is a "dull" hunger. Not as bad as I thought it would be.

Let's keep in touch!

oh wow cant believe i have responses how exciting now i feel like i have people lol i am on a clear liquid diet until next wednesday then i go to full liquids i mix isopure zero carb clear drink with crystal light or diet v8 splash that helps me get protien there are 40g of protein in one jar, it is a little hard to get all if it down and that is why i mix it with something i also have 1 oz of broth three times a day and sometimes i will eat sf pops but most of the time i feel so full im ready to pop just from the liquids. dont know if that is normal but i see the doc in like four days so we will see. thank all of you for replying and hope to get to add you to my friends list.

Hi again!

Where did you buy the zero Carb clear drink? I didn't think of drinking the V8 Splash, that is loaded with Vitamins too. I can't take the Vitamin waters anymore, they are starting to get to me and Gatorade is way too sweet. I have to change things up or I am going to go crazy! I might have to take a trip to find some of that Isopure!

Hi Kim,

I got alot of my stuff from GNC they have the protien drink in all different flavors so there are tons of things you can mix it with to help you get it down they also have these great mixer with metal balls inside that really help mix up the protein powder if you mix with powder. I hope this helps.;)

oh you guys are luck to get to go to full liquids three days after surgery i dont get to do full liq until the second week after surgery. i wish i could go to full because now i am starting to get this hunger sensation frequently that makes me very sad:sad:

Hi! I had my surgery on the 6th of August and I have not had any desire to eat or drink until this past Thursday (the 13th). When the swelling starts to go down it gets easier. Today I had two EAS protein shakes (1 breakfast and 1 lunch) and I had one bottle of water so far. I see the doctor on Thursday for my 2 week followup. I feel the swelling going down so I imagine I will be hungry again in the next day or two. Good luck!

I drink a powdered protein drink in the morning and use the Magic Bullet to mix it (it's like a one serving blender). It works great. You drink out of the container that it is blended in. In the afternoon, I drink a liquid protein drink called Myoplex Lite by EAS, chocolate flavored is wonderful. It comes in a purple individual serving box in a 4 pack. (they also have a powdered drink, but it is too grainy for my taste). Both of these products can be found at Walmart Neighborhood Market. GB

I checked into the bullet my nutrionist told me about it but it seemed a bit pricey for just a few weeks of use so i got a bottle that has like a whisk ball inside to mix up the drinks and it works great and it was just a couple of bucks. EAS is one of the best products out there i use that in the power because i like to mix the shakes and and extracs to them like mint when i mix the chocolate or banana when i mix the vanilla it changes it up alittle.

My plan calls for protein shakes between meals. You will find that you may get hungry between meals and want a snack. The protein shake is easy for breakfast too, when you don't have time to make eggs, etc.. I am 3 months out and expect to keep drinking them for a very long time. GB

That would be a good idea to continue the protein shakes it helps to make sure that we are getting our protein if nothing else. I had my first doctors appoinment this afternoon and he gave me a fill already I was not expecting that but it was not bad at all didnt hurt but felt a bit gross when he removed the needle kinda like a suction but it didnt hurt and i have lost a total of 15lbs in just under a month so i was really exceited about that.
