I want to let everyone know that I have Dr. Kerlakian as my doctor and I have been very impressed with his care. He has been very kind and considerate through my journey and really cares what happens with me and my weight loss. He is very down to earth, and knows what he is doing. I would suggest making an apt. with him if you are in the Cincy area and are looking for a surgeon he is a great one to see!

Hi Speed. Just wanted you to know that I see Dr. Kerlakian at Good Samaritan Weight Loss Clinic. I've lost 40 pounds since my surgery in August. We have support group meetings the first Tuesday every month at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. I tolerated them really well. I only ate a few, and had some chicken cut up really well. It tasted so good! I'm happy that I am able to tolerate that well. I've moved to soft foods this week, and am so happy! It is really weird to be chewing again! Leah

Hi, I was also banded August 12th. I had my first taste of real food. My husband made home made noodles and chicken on the grill. I didn't eat a lot but listened to my body and knew when I was full. Leah

I was banded August 12th, and for the most part I feel wonderful! I am dealing with a little bit of constipation, but that is the worst of it. I had gas pains for the first few days, but it helped that I walked a lot. Leah

I absolutely love my vitamins from Bariatric Advantage! I got the watermelon flavor, and the calcium carbonate tastes like a tootsie roll. I go to my local Krogers and get them, which saves on postage. I recommend them! Leah

I am glad that people have had the same problem that I have had today. I'm sorry everyone has to go through it, but it is a relief all the same. It was 3 days of painful constipation, and I finally used a packet of benefiber in my water/applejuice. I am 4 days post op and my poor tummy is grumbling, and I have been spending time in my bathroom today. I I am on full liquids starting today. It has been really rough, because I am trying to get all of my fluids in. I've been drinking Water and Protein drinks throughout the day. I feel full as well, so I really don't feel like I want to eat to much. Is there anything else that I need to look out for? Thanks for the posts! Leah

Yes, I am having diarrhea. Thankfully it has stopped, and I am drinking plenty of fluids. I'm staying hydrated and drinking my Protein like I should. I was constipated for 3 days, so I think I got everything cleared out. Tummy is still grumbling, but it isn't bad. Leah

My name is Leah. I was banded August 12th. My last bm was a day before surgery. I was so miserable after surgery that I was told to try the benefiber powder. I put the benefiber in my applejuice/water mix and now I am paying for it. I'm also very gurgly. I'm on the full liquid stage of the diet, and wondering if this will go away or if I need to call the doctor tomorrow? I have an occasional stomach growl, but not really hungry. I'm trying to get my Protein in and everything but not really hungry. Anyone else have this problem? Need advice please! Thanks, Leah

Thankfully, I haven't had a lot of shoulder pain. I've had a lot of pain around my port. I have a hard time bending down and having to have hubby tie my shoes. lol I am still having a lot of gas and some hunger pains. I'm eating my Jello, and am drinking plenty of fluids. I mixed some benefiber in with an apple juice/water cocktail so hopefully that will help. I haven't had a lot of nausea, and am trying to wean myself off of the pain meds. I have cut tylenol in half and am trying that for starters. I tried the childrens tylenol and motrin and I can't stand it. :smile2: It tasted a lot like pure sugar. No thank you! What I am wondering is how long I will have the gas pain? I've been doing a lot of walking. The day after I was released from the hospital I walked 2 miles. :biggrin: I'm going to my friends son's football game tomorrow and am hoping that I do well.
