October 2009 Surgery Date?

Recommended Posts

Thanks Mybandjourney2009.! My do. Has put me on a clear liquid only diet for 1 week. I'm at day 3 and I'm doing ok. I've lost 9 lbs so far in 3 days. Last week I was on a 1200 calorie diet. I've been eating strained ramen noodle broth and eating sugar free Jello mostly. Drinking lots of Water. Thanks for the good wishes!

The broth that I am alowed to have on my pre op diet is just cube broth, one cube and add Water. I do believe the ramen has lots of fat so you might want to check the packet? Not sure but that was my first thought and my Dr. told me no fat ... that is what they are after to reduce liver size.

Anyway....I am on day 15 of my diet and am sick of it as well. 7 days to go before I get banded and I am still nervous, anxious, and still question my choice to do this but also feel like it's my only chance to finally loose the rest of the weight and hopefully for good. I want to be healthy for myself and my family!

I am not sure how much fat is in the noodles but I would imajine some of it gets into the broth? or am I wrong?

I didn't have any catheter or tubes when i woke up & am not even sure there were any ever other than in my throat...maybe, but I'm not 100%

I woke with a catheter that they removed in the early afternoon. My voice was very raspy the first day which indicated to me that there was probably a tube in my throat during the surgery.

Hey NJ, I know what you mean. I, too, am very irritable. My band date is 10/19 so 3 more days of the pre-op and then back to liquids for post-op. Some day we'll look back on this knowing it was all worth it. The worst part of the 2 week pre-op is the constant belly ache. I could only get rid of it when some creamy broth hit the spot. I just figure it's because I've never let myself get hungry before

Thanks for the updates after surgery Guy & 09. Keep 'em coming!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
