NEW HERE!! ST. LOUIS MISSOURI anyone?!

So HI! :D

My name is Emily . Im 23. I was just banded on july 16th.No problems during surgery. My stay was excellent. I didnt get up and walk much the night at the hospital. I didnt sleep the night before surgery( nerves) so when i had to be tehre at 530am i was exhausted and after the recovery room and being placed in my room i slept a lot! Prolly every 20 minutes hahah on and off. I had some slight gas pain in my tummy. Other than that i was peachy. So far (and its only been 7 days) nothing to complain about except i wanna CHEW something haha. Im not hungry I just want to have some kind of consistancy in my mouth. Im still on Clear Liquids. I am on that until I go for my post op visit on Monday with my doctor. Most go to what my doc calls "full liquid" after 7 days but apparently according to his rules i wait until i go see him. I havent weighed myself yet. Last time i saw my weight it was at the hospital before i put on my gown. Im very excited to meet people and to have some one to talk to who understands what im going through. My parent sympathize but dont get it when they sit down in front of me while i sip my broth and they are eatting big macs lol. RUDE  If you wanna know more about me just ask. Im more than willing to share.

loveeeee

Hi Emily. Nice to meet you.

Though I had my surgery in Kuwait (where my parents live), I too currently live in St. Louis. I go to UMSL. I also find myself surrounded by rude big mac eaters, so I empathize!

I was banded on June 29 and have lost 20 pounds so far (I was 300 pounds). I had my first fill on Tuesday. It was a bit soon after surgery but my doctor said I'd healed enough for it. It was not very painful or uncomfortable - mostly it was just a strange sensation. Still getting used to eating very slowly.

Keep me posted on how things are going with you and let me know if you have any questions or anything.
