I have been overweight since i was a young child. Growing up the "fat girl" wasnt my ideal,but i worked it out. Over the years I tried  many diets and pills. Went to an endocrinologist.Whom actually helped me loose 50lbs but as soon as I stopped taking the pill he gave me ( you can only take some diet pills for so long) id gain it back.  I did that for years. The same 50 lbs over and over again.I applied last year for lapband through United Healthcare. I was 22 at the time..and after turning 23 my insurance was gone out the window so we tried to get it approved ASAP. UHC..of course turned me down even though i have a HIGH recommendation from my doctors and everything else. It just wasnt covered in the plan my father had chosen with his job. I then turned 23..couldnt try again..bc i no longer had insurance..gave up. Met the man of my dreams and moved to Texas to be with him.  I reached an all time high this year(2009) i assume after i moved to texas and my fiance left for his deployment to Iraq.All the stress. Lots of traveling back and forth from texas to missouri (where my family is located) lots of eatting out. lots of late nights home alone down there munching on whatever i could get my grubby lil paws on. haha. I finally came back to Missouri for a "visit" and ended up going to a seminar at des peres hospital with a friend of mine who is considering getting lap band also.  After that night i was determined. Well lets say...it worked and I am now a proud bander!I am VERY excited.
