New Here, Hopeful for surgery in Roanoke VA

Hi Everyone,

My name is Christie and I am hoping to have surgery in Roanoke VA in the near future. I called today for information and I will be attending the next class for Dr Long. I started this process once before, but ended up getting pregnant with my second son so I had to put things on hold.

Anyway, I hope to get to know everyone and have some support through this process.

Christie

Good Luck fellow Virginian!! I was banded last Friday 7/17 and feel great---tummy is sore but I can deal with a bit of 'soreness' in pursuit of stunning weight loss!!!!!! I had my surgery at UVA and the surgeon, Dr. Schimer & staff have been fantastic!

Hi Christiep77,

I've heard great things about your Dr. and the support groups in the area. I'm about an hour from you but if I get this done I'll have to go to Mexico..self pay. My Dr isn't keen on that option so I'm taking it one step at a time. He did say he'd look into follow up care for me as that is his greatest concern with out of country surgery.
