Welcome! There's so much TO the lap band, it's hard to answer your "Anything I need to know now?" LOL like, what DO you know? What DON"T you know?

Narrow it down a little and I'm sure we'll be glad to help!

Good luck on your surgery! I had mine on June 3rd and have lost 24 lbs so far. I lost the first 9 on the pre-surgery diet. I haven't lost any weight in a couple of weeks but had my first fill a couple of days ago so I'm hoping to start losing again.

I did have some pain for about 2-3 days after surgry but took the liquid pain medicine and just rested. I had trouble laying flat for the first 10 days and slept most of the time in a recliner or propped up on the couch. I did go out of town a week after my surgery and was able to enjoy my vacation!

I am so glad to have the weight loss tool and have my weight loss started. I want to lose a total of 70 lbs so I have about 45 more to go. I already have less pain in my joints (I have osteo arthritis) and have more energy than before. I have been doing water aerobics for exercise about 3 times a week and it is fun once I make myself get to the gym to do it!

Good luck!

My best answer is if you have a hospital program bariatric support group, take advantage of it and you'll find support close to home as well as on this great site where there are sections on Pre-op, Post Op, Fills, Diet, Exercise, etc. Lots to read!
