OK, so heres the deal..... No leaks!!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I met with the new fill doc who was going to do a leak test on my band. OK, OT: New fill doctor is a hunk. Kinda like a Doc Billy in CA. NOt hard to look at ... ! LOL OK, back to my story....

My new doc (who will remain nameless) is apparently related to a Mexican doc (who will remain nameless) and he saw me for a couple of minutes and made me a happy camper. I walk in his treatment room, he comes in and looks at me. Tells me I look great (good way to start) as he is looking in my file and saw my starting weight and my present weight.

I lay down on the table. He puts a needle in immediately pulls out exactly 1.00 CC which was put in two weeks ago by my banding surgeon and says NO LEAK ! Apparently during the 10 seconds I was in a good state of shock, he also added 1.2 CC to my band giving me a total of 2.20. Told me after the fact, but I was OK with this cause he knew from my new file that the most I have ever had was 2.6. Said please stay on liquids for 2 days and I will see you in a month and give you more if you need more! I said thank you and went on my merry way! So far since yesterday, no problems. I had Soup last night, a Protein shake for Breakfast and some mushy tuna for lunch (2 oz) Feeling great and not sure if I have more restriction yet, but I think I do. I guess I will know more when I eat the Protein, but it seems like I have more than before.

I cancelled my appointment for the end of this month with my lapband surgeon. I think I will let Dr. Cutie do my fills. He is a cardiologist and takes my insurance, so this is a major plus as well. What I really liked is that he did not question me about restriction. He knew that I had gained weight and understood that I did not have enough restriction to finish my journey. Yes, I did get on the scale and I am up about 12 pounds from my all time lowest, however, I also am still pretty swollen from my PS. A friend of mine who has had extensive PS told me that because I am no longer wearing my compression garment, that I will be more swollen at the end of each day. My legs are still quite swollen. I feel good that I will lose the last 20 pounds and get where I want to go soon!!! I am being a good bandster........ Yeah for restriction!!!

Okay, is your new dr single and in my age bracket (25-80)?

Congratulations on finding someone who will do your fills and has great looks besides. Celeste

Babs, sorry I missed calling you back, but my life took off at full speed lately. Even as I prepped for the bash a friend ended up in the hospital, so we had to drop everything and rush to help him out. Plus my new business, etc.

You sound great. Good for you. I bet you'll hit a new all-time low once the swelling goes down.

I want my old band habits back. Congrads.

Babs, how wonderful to get good news all around! (I know exactly how you feel, minus the my-new-doc-takes-my-insurance part.) Congratulations!!

Hi Celeste,

New doc is about mid 40's and hispanic (most likely Mexican).

Happy: No, he is in Dallas

Lisa: I am coming to Vegas next month. Maybe we can see each other again?

Hugs,

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
