Does anyone know of any place around Rockford Illinois that is doin the lapband surgery? So far the closest I've found is either in Chicago or U of W in Madison Wisconsin but would really like to be closer to home.

Not sure of any in Rockford, but I had mine done with Dr Kane, at the Kane Center. He's affiliated with Alexian Brothers hospital. My experience so far has been outstanding, the staff, both with his office and the hospital and he his awesome. His father was one of the first doctors in the midwest to do weight lost surgery about 40 years ago and he's followed in his fathers foot steps. He is awesome!!!!!

I am also going thru the Kane Center. It's about 45 mins from Rockford so not too far. I love south of Rockford in Byron so it takes me about an extra half hour. It's worth it though. The staff at the Kane Center are EXCELLENT! They are so nice and helpful. Nothing has seemed to have taken very long. Scheduled for surgery August 3rd. I am seeing Dr. Rantis.

One more thing....there is also the Mercy Bariatric Center in Harvard IL. I made an initial appointment there but could not find much research on them so I went with the Kane Center because I felt more comfortable since I found so many good stories from people who went there.

It's not tons closer than Chicago, but Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet is home to Christopher Joyce, MD and Brian Lahmann, MD (who's doing my band).
