Recently banded-questions about diet

Hi y'all

I was banded about 2 weeks ago in Plano-I go for my first follow-up visit this Thursday, and I have been having a very, very hard time with the all-liquid diet for the first 2 weeks after surgery. My tummy growls soooo much and it has that terrible and hurting empty feeling. I need to confess that since a week after surgery I have been having one cup of "mushies" once per day and I now feel much better. No more empty pain and no more growling.

I do have willpower. I had to do a 3 month diet for Aetna. Jan 10th I was 273 lbs and when I went to be banded end of May I was 225. Now I am about 219.

Am I the only one that was starving on that all-liquid diet?

Thanks, Carla

This is the phase we call bandster's hell. I guess you realize why they call it hell. lol. It sucks right now buwill be different very soon. Take it hour by hour and try to keep your mind on something else, like picking your new wardrobe when you meet your goal. Good luck and stay positive

Hi Carla!

Congratulations on getting your band. I had mine about 8 months ago with Dr. Cribbins (Plano). I don't know if you are on Clear liquids or full liquids, but have you tried blending chunky Soups to a grit-like consistency. This really helped as they seemed to "stick" more and I felt fuller. If that's not working, I will confess to having some mashed potatoes and refried Beans a little earlier than the Dr. recommended. If you have any questions or just need some support, I am happy to help. I LOVE my band!
