Hi, Munger! When did you have your surgery? Have you had your first fill yet?

It is normal after surgery before your first fill to become frustrated and feel a lack of restriction in your band. A couple of weeks after the surgery, the swelling goes down and it tends to feel like you can eat anything and everything so if you're in this boat don't be dismayed and just keep your eyes on the prize.

No loss or gain this week, just maintaining. I'm 4 weeks post op and in Bandster Hell. Fell like I'm hardly eating at all and still not losing. My first fill is next week, 6/18, hopefullt I'll see a loss then.

I'm 3 weeks out from surgery and have lost 4 and a half pounds this week. I'm quite pleased as I started on mushies a week ago and have really been enjoying my eggs and cheese...albeit in tiny quantities.

I am determined to get under 100kg by dropping at least another 1.2kg (2.6 pounds) before my first fill on 6/25. Watch out treadmill- here I come!

By what I have read - I am just not going to lose anymore weight until I get my first fill - which truely makes me sad. I was so pumped to lose 15 pounds right off the bat - now I am back to the same old stuff as before the band. Counting calories - wieghting in with no lose.... I was just hoping there would be more. At least I am not gaining!

I am down 14lbs since May 27th. I saw my Doc. last Thu. and he said we will do my 1st fill when I am eating too much, hungry between meals or not losing 1.5 to 2 lbs per week. This is the standard criteria for the Realize Band. I am eating a lot of different things, just small amounts and really chopped up. It takes me as long to eat my small amount as it does my husband his whole meal. We eat out a lot so I am finding things I can eat. So far, so good.

You'll catch up that's for sure. :)

I'll tell you even with my first fill, I'm not restricted. I even have a call into the Dr's office to see if I can step up my appt. Why wait if there is no restriction.....I don't have a problem waiting 2-4 weeks if I have restriction, but this is frustrating. Keeping to 1200 calories and 90 grams of Protein.

I absolutely agree -- call the doctor. My doc told me to call if I started feeling hungry all the time like before. So far, knock on wood, I'm doing okay, but I have 6 weeks before my next fill, so we'll see.

Good luck, John. I hope you get your fill soon. :) And thanks for the encouragement.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
