I just had my surgery (the 5th) yesterday...and I am still waiting to be released :nanahump: I have to wait till I can get rid of my nausea and puking

but at least the surgery part is over

Oh, I am so sorry to hear how you are struggling with nausea and vomiting. I was ok...surgeon gave me so many anti-nausea drugs thru my IV, the nurse said. Plus I had a patch behind my ear.

Hope it all passes for you soon!:wink2:

Got banded Yesterday. Went well. There was a lot of pain getting out, all I said was ouch for like the first 10 minutes. Was def. in and out of it for a really long time . Got my own private room afterwards. got morphine for the pain while there. I'm just super sore and swollen. Came home today around 4/5 I think. Was given percocet (sp?) for pain, but pharmacist won't give me prescript due to the amount to be dispensed being written in the wrong spot *rolling eyes*

Been eating okay. Not hungry at all really, so had like 2oz of apple sauce and some Water later on. sleeping sore as I am is def. not fun :-/

Hang in there...each day gets easier!

August 25th, Dr Cenden in Gainesville FL. I'm really excited & scared at the same time. :Banane56: What worries me most is what I'm going to do with the anxiety, emotions, etc that I use food for. :nanahump: It's my herion...my best friend...and is going to be hard to let go of. I am starting with an addiction specialist (shrink) next week who I plan to follow through with after surgery. I've been eating like a garbage disposal though. :wink2: All the foods that I hear can't be tolerated anymore. I start a clear liquid diet the week before surgery. My husband may want to consider moving to the next county. I'm not going to be Susie Sunshine after a couple of days.

Ha ha! You'll be fine! The pre-op diet isn't as bad as you think. I was really apprehensive about it, but I'm on my fifth day and I think I could deal with this for another month if I had to. I did the same thing as you before my pre-op diet, I ate candy and Chinese food and everything in between to have my last hurrah. Hope the shrink helps you, but try not to come out of any of this feeling like you are somehow a bad person because you don't have control over what you are putting in your mouth. You are not alone in that struggle.

I did a pizza two nights ago, then spag bol with garlic bread the next night, then today half a chocolate bar, 2 bread rolls and a McFeast with large French Fries - at least the BBQ Sauce was liquid!!!!

But I have had hell week and to top it off last night my whole house turned into a sewer - the plumbing went caput and i had sewer coming out of every sink and floor waste, and every toilet was blocked - no wonder I have gone to the dogs.

I am sceduked for 11a.m. on Monday! So excited and nervous. Had a bite here and there of chicken and cucumber during my two week diet. Really nervous about my liver, but something deep down inside of me tells me that it will all be fine.

I had my pre-op appt today and the doc was not happy that I had gained weight since my last visit with him in June. I was really scared that he was going to tell me it's a no-go. I tried to explain that, yes, I did gain weight in his eyes, but i had just lost 8 pounds on the pre-diet. My gain was before the pre-diet while on vacation. I kind of let loose and ate and drank whatever I wanted. I can gain weight very easily and a one week slip caused me to gain 12 pounds. I then lost the 8 these past 2 weeks, but was still up 4. He seemed to understand and made a joke about me having a pretty good vacation.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
