I am there with you too. I got my first fill yesterday and he said I would probably want another one in a month. It is a process. I was on Clear Liquids for 24 hours and then could finally have a meal at lunchtime. I had a small chili from Wendy's, and now, 2-1/2 hours later, I am still not hungry, so I guess it's doing what it is supposed to be doing, for now. =) I was really struggling week three and several people and my nutritionist told me to try drinking a cup of milk while preparing a meal, so that I wouldn't be starving when it was time to eat...it worked. I actually attribute that to stopping the weight gain I was starting. Try it! I love organic milk...it doesn't upset my tummy!:smile2:

Right there with you guys...haven't lost a single pound in two weeks. I can eat almost everything and I sure do eat them. Don't eat as much as I was pre-surgery though and I guess that's why I haven't gained. went for my fill today ( postponed from last week) and there were too many people at the doctor's office. I waited for an hour and there were still about seven people ahead of me, so I rescheduled for Thursday and left.

OK May 26-er's

It seems as though I have hit a wall completely. I have only lost a pound since June 16th or so. Im frustrated, I don't get a fill until July 23rd because my doctors on a month long vacation. I have a great appetite and I'm constantly hungry. I don't pass more than 1100 calories a day and I walk 30-40 min daily. WTH is going on. Sorry for the vent ladies/gents i guess my frustration point is peaking.

When did you all have your fills or plan on having them, everyone I spoke to seems to have either gotten or is getting their fill within the next week or so.

thanks for reading

I am right there with you. I had to go back to the surgeon on Monday because I was having alot of NEW pain in my port area, he just said I was trying to do to much to soon. But he asked when they scheduled my first fill and I told him it was July 2nd. He said that was WAY to soon and pushed it out another 3 weeks so it is not until July 27th. :( I was so bummed because I am starting to really get hungry more often. I only have a week of mushies left then on to solids, but now I am super worried. :)

Hello...I was banded on May 26. I can't believe it's been a month already. I live in puerto Rico. My first fill will be on July 10th. So far I've lost about 18 pounds. I'm happy to have found a group to be connected.

Well my Dr said a month later was too soon also, I wouldnt have an issue with waiting this long if I wasn't so hungry all the time. being on low calorie diet is hard! I have lost nothing in the last 2 weeks and Im actually surprised I havent gained anything. Well I wish you luck ad hopefully we will see some weight loss soon!

I know sometimes I get really bummed because I think man I could of starved myself and not gone through all this. But I guess this is why they call it Banster Hell! I started solids on Thursday, while I am excited about real food after 6 weeks, I am really nervous too, if I had good self control I wouldn't need the band. :crying: :rolleyes2:

Hi All,

I thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing. We had a death in my husband's family and had to be out of town on the day my first fill was scheduled for. I had to cancel and reschedule and finally got filled last Friday. The fill was no big deal at all and was painless. The doctor gave me 4cc. I still have very little restriction and can basically eat about 3/4 of the amount I could eat pre-surgery. I get to go back for a second fill on July 31 and are hoping for a little restriction after that.

I'm feeling a little bummed because I have only lost about 25lbs since surgery day. I teach and go back to work in a couple of weeks. I don't think you can tell a huge difference in the way I look and I think all of my coworkers will be expecting a big change in me after summer break. I know it is a long process and I'm hanging in there but I guess its just human nature to want more faster. Oh well...off to the gym!

Hey Jessica, You are doing great! I was banded May 19, have had two fills, and have lost 15 pounds, so you are doing really well. I also have a lot further to go than you. I bet you are feeling better though. Sorry about your family's loss! Marcy

Jessica, sorry to hear about the death in your family. My condolences.

I think all of you are doing great! 25 lbs. in about 60 days is .4 lbs per day! And 15 lbs. in that time is .25 lbs per day! That is nothing to sneeze at! That is something to Celebrate. And, if you continue at that pace, by the time Aug. 10 gets here, you could lose up to 7 more lbs. So, don't worry about those coworkers. You're doing a fantastic job. :)

Anne, you are absolutely right...we need to look at the big picture and not get caught up in the day to day struggles; just keep an eye on the prize! I have lost, on average, about two pounds per week...that will never come back!

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I agree, we have to look at the big picture and take a day at a time. I really appreciate all your answers. I will continue the recommended diet and excercise everything will go as it is supposed to. One thing that I have los t perspective is that those pounds lost, will not come back....Lesbia

I also forget about that! I've yo-yo'd all my life, that I think my friends and family just look at my weight loss as, oh, there she goes again...wonder when she'll gain it back. I really can't even imagine what life will be like as a thin person -- forever! How exciting!!!

I have lost 34# since the start of the pre-op diet. I have not had a fill and am steadily losing 2# per week. Even though my band is just sitting there with no Fluid my doc says--"don't tamper with what is working." I am pretty faithful with the rules--and am a very satistifed bandster (I'm sure you couldn't tell!! :D)

Great to hear from everyone!!

Elaine

It's been two months since surgery, just wanted to know how everyone is doing. I know most of us are in bandster hell right now, so when are y'all getting your second fill ?

I have been doing my best for two weeks now and it really did pay off. I have lost 40 lbs in two months. I lost 13 lbs in the last two weeks , but I worked my butt off for it. I have a wedding on the 9th of August and I will be seeing most of my classmates that I haven't seen since May. I want to turn heads you know...lol. I have goals of another 10 lbs by then. I am not relying on the band right now, I am relying on myself.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
