Anyone banded April 28?

Hello, I was banded on April 28 and wondered if anyone else was. I still have some of the gas pains, but otherwise not doing too bad. I am having trouble getting all of the food in that I am supposed to. :)

I was banded on April 28 2009. Fortunately I had no gas pains, but I had a horrible feeling as if someone were holding a hand around my stomach which was squeezing it tightly. For four days I would take forty five minutes to sip a one cup protein drink, then the swelling in my stomach went down. I wondered if I had somehow broken the band, but my doctor said that it was the stomach shrinking. He had a hard time fitting my stomach into an 11 cc. realize band. Even though I can't drink fast, I started to drink more and stopped loosing weight. Now I am starting to plan what I eat so I can resume weight loss until my first fill.

I was banded on 4-30 The surgery wnt well no problems so far except gas anda gax-x help me thru that per-op I was weighting 229 lbs today 5-9-2009 211 lbs. I been on liquds since surgery, but cheated 5-4-2009 and ended up vomitting the yogurt up due to I forgot you can not eat and drink. I really stuggling with this. I get to eat soft food wednesday. I can wait....O'yeah just remember I did cheat on Firday had 1 oz on watermelon....It was so good...

Does anybody know where we can get recipes for a pureed menu? I have been searching the NET but haven't found a lot out there. Based on my drs. guidelines...I will be on liquid for 10 days then moved to STAGE II (mushy food). So...I am trying to prepare for that this coming Friday. Headed to grocery store this afternoon if anyone has any suggestions.

Go to Forum and then food & Nutrition. I've found some good things.

I was banded on 4/30 and today is the first day I feel completely normal. Even though I'm supposed to be on liquids for 2 weeks I tried mushies yesterday and today and had zero problems. It was very nice eating about 1/3 bowl of clam chowder and then stopping because I was full :-) But everyone is different, gas-x chewables and strips seemed to work great for me the first week after surgery.

It is now 13 days post surgery, and I am still only able to eat about 5-6 spoons f mushie food.

I had my first real taste of real food.. if there is nothing I can eat when I am out and about, I just have aother cup of blcak tea. But yesterday, I had 3 bites of Philadelphia cheese wrapped in smoked salmon.. nice, and no pain, no probs.

I was told that the Protein should be about the size of a chicken nugget, and anyway, just eat enough to stave off hunger, and when I wait a while, I feel satisfied with that.

I made a half packet of rolled oats with a half cup skim milk this morning, and can only eat about half of that. The Beroccafills me up first, anyway!

My first day back at work, my wounds haven't healed completely. anyway, I have tomorrow's brekky.. I just heat the leftovers from today.. luckily I can save some money somewhere, because I need new undies, and scratching for clothes that are not going to fall off me!

Cheers

Sue

I was banded on the 28th and have had very little pain. The worst part is the pain in my shoulder, which comes and goes. My Dr. only had me on liquids for 7 days and I have been on mushie's since last Wednesday. I haven't had a problem with any food yet. I get to start working back up to a regular diet this Wednesday.

Best of luck to all of you!! :-)
